With all the new regs and carbon taxes Phillips 66 has announced shutting down their refinery and bailing out of Ca. ….. the powers that be in Ca are likely smiling  :like:
I read that it has caused a panic in political circles because gas will skyrocket in price even more. The angry public will blame them, and possibly remove them from office. It’s all about the power

Ain’t ya heard ? The few Charger Daytona’s sold have been recalled. Alas- the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust is quitting working. Tragic indeed ! :CWL:
Oh, man, I missed out! I was going to add that as a mod to my sons gaming chair…

It’s not their fault, it’s those evil greedy oil companies fault fuel prices are skyrocketing. … Just buy an EV.
More taxes , regulations , carbon credits are having the intended result of increasing fuel prices to push us into EV’s IMHO.

BTW- months ago when the new carbon taxes, regulations etc were announced
(The Center Square) California gas prices could rise up to $1.15 per gallon next year thanks to the state’s new carbon credit system, taxes, refinery regulations, and refinery shutdown.
By design ? Buying an EV ?

After all that, all I can say is “Thank God I don’t live in California!”

Some relief is being attempted and possible, but it will go clear to the SCOTUS.

It will be interesting how long it might take and how it turns out. We can only hope it will be resolved quickly.

Edit: if this crap keeps going on in Colorado, I will be moving to Wyoming. I’m so done with idiots telling me how I should live.

Well, if you were Ca would you not attempt to drag it out until at least Jan of 29 so it could possibly be dropped… again. like in Jan of 21 ?

Yes, but it seems like they have kind of given up at this point. Too many other major items happening at the same time and the state is broke.

I believe Newsom has already filed a suit, promised anyway if still working on it. Plus- some things like vehicles and vehicle emissions have interstate effect, others just intrastate. So this non expert doesn’t know the level of relief even if the CARB exemption being revoked is ultimately upheld.

I’m not sure how cali thinks it can win, other than trying to run out the clock.

An exemption granted from the feds can also be revoked from the feds. Kinda like being 16 and daddy taking back the keys to the car… :CWL:

Colorado is right behind Washington DC and CA in auto thefts. California is also one of the few states which pay more taxes than it receives.
America is a union, those that hate states just by name have been brainwashed.

And Dodge, I read the Charger Daytona EV production stopped with less than 2000 total sales. Total- not just Ca. How many ICE can they sell here, a couple handfuls and conform with the percentages ?
We're (Windsor Assembly) going to be building a lot of ICE Chargers really really soon. Preparations are already ongoing to increase supply of the parts needed and the Charger specific jobs have been warned that they're gonna get real busy in the next few weeks. Much of the space held for EV parts has been switched to ICE specific and new mounts for the 'interesting' engines have been seen in plant.

It's going to take time to fix Tavares' screwups, like steering the Titanic the turn isn't sharp. But, the signs are there inside the plants that the mindset is being corrected. The word is that this isn't just a Charger only thing either, that they have intentions to bring back the V8 and other performance options to more vehicles.

But it Stella has to comply with the agreement, as it appears, will they be able to sell them here ? In consumer demand numbers anyway ?

I don’t hate any state, but I get your point. I hate the way the governments in those states act. It’s not the people and the places, it’s how average people and criminals are treated by those governments.

Criminals need to be dealt with fairly, not appeased so they do it again.

Citizens don’t need to have the government coming in their house to turn the temperature down on their shower.

Taxes should not be at an exorbitant rate to be wasted by idiots who think they know better than you.

I’ll stop there. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. It’s not always easy to respectfully convey something via text.

Right now, they know they can sell ICE Chargers as dealer and customer orders are enough to keep us at full tilt through the 2026/27 model years. It was Tavares who eliminated the V8 program and switched the focus to an EV model for EVERYTHING we built. That was a mistake even he admitted and that's why we're doing a full turn to mostly ICE and easing into EV.

On a side note, talking with the Dodge SRT guys I was told that if there wasn't internal rules in place they could easily ship 80% of the Named Chargers (Demon, Hellcat, SCAT, etc) they were capable of building to overseas buyers.
