Maybe the new CEO will sell the Jeep brand.

Migrating Jeep to an "upmarket brand" worked when money was cheap/free and Mr. Taveres made a lot of money. During expensive money it doesn't work nearly as well when folks feel broke.

Everything was a lot better when Mike Manley was in charge. Putting the performance vehicles guy in charge was a great move.

Heard this on the local radio news station mid day today, while driving the JL around the penninsula. He was corporate retirement age anyway and it was his watch on whick they got into a financial pickel. So, a hide was needed. He's probably relieved and can devote his full attention to his racing. He couldn't spend all his money anyway.

Given he was just serving out his contract, makes sense for them to cut ties. The AutoMarket though is in an absolute shambles, and most of the automakers are struggling cept perhaps Tesla and Kia/Hyundai. I hear the new Dodge Charger EV is arriving DOA at dealerships totally bricked. They are also having similar issues with the Ram 1500 REV (EV Truck). These vehicles were supposed to pick up some slack.. but there a disaster. Time for another video.. the news just keeps coming..

$61,500 for the base Charger EV. The market for 60+K vehicles is getting smaller everyday and it is already crowded. Can you imagine how folks who purchased the 2023 "Last Call" editions will feel if the new CEO reintroduces the V-8 for 2025 Charger "Classic". LOL!

I'm guessing this means the Q4 earnings are looking to be even more of a disaster than previously thought.

But what exactly is the new guy (who they're saying will be on board by the end of the first half of 2025???!!!) supposed to do? It takes awhile to turn around a company of this size and with product cycles this long. I'm guessing raise prices, layoff workers, shutdown plants, buyback shares, the usual financial engineering stuff while promising a brighter future.

Wonder what this means for the next gen J70.
Assuming Jeep is part of the Stellantis brand come 2028, this means that the J70 may probably be a very minor upgrade over the JL. They might do some small cosmetic changes, elminate the 3.5 Pentastar and the 6 speed manual, make the 2 liter the sole option and call it a J70 due to dried up R&D funding.

Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Mazda are all having a banner year. GM, Ford and Hyundai/Kia are not doing too bad. Tesla's fortunes have been fluctuating quarter to quarter.

Stellantis and Nissan are the only two automakers that are consistently struggling. And in both cases, it is 100% self-inflicted.

Like you, I am hopeful that upcoming Dodge Charger will sell like hotcakes. It is a hot car. But Stellantis has too many problems it needs to fix: gaping holes in its product lineup, ridiculous prices, poor value for money, slumping sales, inconsistent quality, terrible dealers, terrible supplier relations, terrible labor relations, low employee morale, etc. All of these have worsened under Tavares's watch.

Add Volkswagen to the self inflicted list.

good riddance I say. Carlos made his money, hopefully they replace him with someone who actually gives a shit and not just another empty suit in it for a big paycheck. My confidence is low on that so I’m not holding my breath.

Meh. The Wrangler has been the only thing about FCA/Stellantis that had any appeal to me. Always regarded the Charger and Challenger as junk.

Maybe the new person will do something interesting with CJDR. Speaking of which, time to nix the RAM brand, call it Dodge angain. Always thought that sounded stupid. “I drive a RAM!” 🙄
