Same is happening to my '18 JLUR. Unacceptable and planning to take to dealer for replacement under warranty. I have owned many vehicles with leather wheels for which this has never happen in a year and 16K miles of ownership. In fact, my 10 year old F150 and 9 year old LR4 look better.

Curious to see if dealer categorizes this as "normal wear and tear".

Ever have the top off? It's kind of funny that they come with removeable tops but the owner's manual says to avoid leaving the vehicle unattended with top down to avoid sun damage to the interior.

No surprise Jeep covers its bases with such a statement. Sticky steering wheels suck. Funny thing is that I wanted a JLUR without leather but could not find one. First world problems.

Got the sticky steering wheel too. It is starting to fade each time I wash it with mild soap and a rag. I'm a pencil pusher, use gloves half the year...

I had that issue with an Acura in the past. Will see what the dealer will tell...

Some people have stickier palms than others, and that's just the natural oil on your skin (slightly acidic) eating away the surface.

I have a habit of wiping my hands before getting into the Jeep, and do a monthly wipe down of my steering wheel with leather conditioner.

3 years in, my steering wheel (and all leather surfaces) look brand new.

P.S. The steering wheel of my 20 years old Toyota is also in excellent shape as well.

I understand that... But my hands have not changed, and my leather steering wheels on my 2017 RAM 1500, my 2013 Challenger never shown any issue like this steering wheel 18 months in...

Definitely weird, either there might be a bad batch of leather (or rubber) or some sort of chemical got onto the steering wheels dissolving the material.

I have the sticky steering wheel too. Not sure why. I bought new in early 2018, only one that drives it, only 15,000 miles, always garages, have clean hands. I have owned 3 Range Rovers two of which exceed 120,000 with leather steering wheels an no sticky. Why and what can I do to resolve. It is such a drag . This is the only thing I hate about my Jeep.

Get it replaced. Shouldn’t be like that.
