It’s all relative…… there’s a time and a place for better stabilizers….and there’s way more than a marginal difference……
What are the most common symptoms of a worn steering stabilizer?

Loss of control when hitting a pot hole or expansion gap. Happened on my front solid axle rv ands happened on my jeep when it was leaking.

I’m curious if under normal driving conditions it commonly pulls to one side specifically vs the other, or wanders more to both sides. I feel like my Jeep pulls to the passenger side even on a straight flat road with no crown. Besides an alignment issue, could a worn steering stabilizer contribute?

pull your stabilizer off completely and see what it does..takes the steering stabilizer out of the equation..

That is a great idea. I’m still curious if there are any common symptoms under normal driving conditions. I realize ”steering stabilizer“ is the knee jerk reaction for many and could be considered a band aid fix for a different problem.

That’s a different problem. The dampener only reduces the shock force.

I like many others have a love hate relationship with this part. I’m on my third and will replace that. Relocating is critical when on rocks. And then the relocation kit needs to work with the other parts. I’m swapping that out this weekend due to the angle putting it into a control arm and chewing it up.

There was a video from awhile ago that mentioned 10 things to stop doing to your jeep. Number 3 was stop buying expensive steering stabilizers.

Yes, they look cool, and they might be marginally better. But your money can be better spent elsewhere. I would relocate it if you are rock crawling, but otherwise leave it alone.
I can see that theory, however if you are running bigger or much bigger tires, it is nice to have a high-quality adjustable steering stabilizer shock to where you could fine tune it to your needs.

I had this from the start in my jlur. Test drove a few other rubis that did the same. Im not saying it was the only cause but i learned many stabilizers can cause a pull. The through shaft is truly neutral and eliminates this. Other causes can be the stearing box (assuming the other steering components, tires, and suspension are in working order). Im my specific case s reset was done on the power steering (the procedure is listed on the forum somewhere) which helped greatly but it was the stabilizer ultimately causing it. You can always remove it as a test, and see if you get the same pull. If the pull stopped then you know. I wouldn't drive around much without it, but it's fine just to trouble shoot.

A lot of people tell you it's road crown that does it. While that may be true to some extent, all my other vehicles ( including older jeeps) drive the same roads with no pull.

I initially upgraded my factory ss to a standard style fox "upgrade" and it was even worse pull. That's when i realized what it was and got a through shaft. Bye bye pull.

I’ve got the Falcon through shaft adjustable one and wouldn’t want to be without an adjustable one. I run it on firm for hiway road trips and on medium for normal day to day run around. The firm setting on the hiway definitely makes it steer much better with way less wander and reaction to wind gust, tractor trucks and road imperfections.
