So I recently picked up a 2020 wrangler rubicon and have a steering shimmy at highway speeds(video attached). I took a video of play in the track bar on the axle side that I’m thinking is the cause, wondering if you guys think it’s enough play to cause the shimmy I have.

Yeah that’s the first thing I did, there was no change afterwards.
Did they rotate at the same time? Any of the tires have a ton of weight?

This just screams tire to me.

Clearly this is caused by caster.

On a serious note - I'm with @GATORB8. If it was your trackbar I'd expect the shimmy to be much more violent.

To clarify. I assumed from your post that this is occurring every time you hit that speed. If that's not the case you could probably rule out tires.

Normally death wobble issues with the suspension are initiated by an impact/bump.

It’s not every time, it’s better when it’s colder, as it warms up it’s more of an issue. Tires weren’t rotated but they completely redid the balance with new weights and said the tread didn’t really show any unusual wear. And it does occur when hitting uneven bumps like bridge connections or rough parts of the road

Check the torque on all the bolts. Anything loose would be an issue.

Mine started going because of ball joints, but I'm sure yours are still too new to be shot. So just check to make sure everything is tight and your toe is set to 1/16th out. (I have great results with out vs in, but ymmv.)

My 2018 had a similar issue and I only had 7500 miles. Brought it in to a shop and had the tires rebalanced and rotated along with a Falcon 2.1 stabilizer and the issue was fixed and never came back. Mechanic said it was more than likely the tires being out of balance vs the stabilizer that got rid of the vibration. Stock tires.

I am with @GATORB8, at least initially, definitely looked tire related, especially mixing in that it only happens at freeway speeds. Other than tire pressure, not sure what could make it worse hot vs cold.
If you rotated the tires and 'it's still there, then it might be something mechanical. I would check all the usual stuff, basically every steering component.

just to clarify again, i should have put it in the original post, i can go highway speeds just fine if the road is smooth, the wobble happens on uneven bumps and bridge connections where driver and passenger side hit separately. I've played with tire pressures and now with the new track bar it got an alignment (see above picture for specs), everything seemed to be pretty tight. I'm having the dealership is looking at it on Monday because they said they would take care of it since it had the issue before i bought it, so I'm just gonna let them spend their money on it.

Probably. Trying to get them to put in the new steering gear too, we’ll see how that goes
