Just curious if there might be a correlation between build date and those of us experiencing the death shimmy? I've had my stabilizer replaced by the dealer and after a few hundred miles the shimmy is coming back. Not as severe but I'm sure after this new ss wears out it will be back in full force.my build date was July 12th.

Good question. You might start a poll to get people to select the month of mfg who have "steering wheel shimmy, steering wheel wobble and death wobble". Also, many people have reported loose ball joints (finger tight), loose drag links, loose track bar, etc. Check the torque on everything related to steering and suspension as this can cause excessive wear on the steering stabilizer. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...rangler-jl-steering-related-components.18510/

All FCA needs is about 25 competent Jeep forum members who have any hands on experience with this simple link suspension style to give EACH Jeep unit 30 minutes of inspection with a 1/2 torque wrench during final roll out. Get them on payroll $200/day to lay on creeper and torque suspension parts while JL is at ride height. Maybe I’m too simplistic (maybe someone sees frame in this scenario as well)

Any time factory tires are replaced with larger than stock size, vehicle should have a new steering alignment to add more positive caster. This is unknown to some front end specialist with a lack of knowledge of off road tires and upgraded sizes. A reputable front end specialist should eliminate the shimmy. IMHO EVEREADY

My 18 JLU Sahara w/2.5" lift drives and rides 110% better after replacing the upper and lower control arms and having a 4-wheel alignment.
