Someone was just talking about that on another post yesterday. The box is definitely getting hammered by the suspension. I re torqued the bolts on the synergy brace that hold the bushing for the sector shaft. Drove it around for a bit and it was driving half way decent. Hit my favorite bump and it was better than it was earlier today, put about 30 miles or so on it and beat it up some on some crappy back roads. Started driving like crap and got home and the bolts were loose again. I had put red locktite on it last week also.
At the end of the day, something has to take the shock of an impact. I wonder if all the components you put it are too stiff, all in conjunction with each other that the box is just getting smoked. Who knows. Some rubber here and there isn’t bad to dampen things. Although plenty of folks have full set ups and ride well.

One other thing that doesn't exist yet but maybe you could convince them to hurry up production is Rock Krawler makes their JK tie rod with Heims instead of ball joint type ends. No way for it to move laterally or wobble. Cleared up my JK death wobble instantly with no stabilizer in a heavily modded JK. They need a push to release a JL version.

Word on the street....is they’re in testing, and doing well so far, hopefully won’t be much longer.......?

Those wallowed out holes that @Jeep&dogs posted have me worried the most. I have the Clayton Overland kit inbound in a couple weeks and I want to prevent that same wallowing from happening on mine. I'll be ordering the Rustys track bar bracket for the frame and I'm thinking of a relocation bracket like Teraflex for the axle side. Not a fan of drilling holes though if I don't have to. I'd like to keep the geometry as close to factory as possible. Also thinking of asking Clayton if I could swap out the Johnny joint on the track bar for another Giiro joint to help absorb some of the shock. I don't know if it would be beneficial or detrimental to the cause though. Maybe some of you smarter guys than me could advise.

I'm hoping I don't experience the same shimmy in mine. Not that it matters yet but I have a cast iron box in my diesel but I think it's slightly different than the gas version.

The bitch of it is I fixed the hole in the sector shaft brace, and it’s slightly oval Ed out again. I pulled the brace off and the sector shaft has a fair amount of play, I have a feeling the bearing in the box might be shot. You couldn’t see any play until the brace was off. I’m going to swap boxes out here when I get some time. I need to figure out who I loaned my vac pump to first so I could bleed the system when I’m done!

Do you have the lift installed yet? I put mine on over Memorial Day weekend, also got the new steering box installed and put on 35's. Drives pretty darn good after chasing a bunch of minor issues, but I have the same shimmy that's being described - although not as bad. I never had the issue with Rubicon suspension and 33's on my Sport S. I'm with you in that I don't want to drill into the frame unless absolutely necessary, but I'm thinking of the Rusty's track bar brace also to see if that might do anything.

I have about 1k miles on the lift now. I installed the Rusty's TB brace when I installed the lift. No shimmy other than what was already there from my mud tires. I need to rotate them and get them rebalanced.
Seeing how thin the metal is where the track bar bolts to, I'm glad I added the brace. Oh yeah, my Clayton track bar came with the Giiro joint instead of the Johnny joint so I'm happy with that as well.

At a few hundred miles after installing the lift, I added the Synergy rear track bar relocation bracket. I loaded it down and went camping and the body roll was really noticeable. Synergy bracket made it feel so much better and no drilling too. Still deciding on the front.
