Splicing into third brake light harness.

Has any on spliced Into the third brake light harness to add a spare tire light. I want to keep my factory third brake light but also add this one. I’ll be using a two flat pin to allow myself to remove the brake light if i choose to.

You can get a clip in splice harness from QT so you don't have to tap the oe wires. I used it on mine for my spare tire brake light and it works great.

At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the OEM brake light installed so I just used a t-tap to connect my spare tire brake light ring and ran both for a while. After a few days, I decided to remove the OEM light so I cut the t-tap off and used the waterproof quick connectors. While I was at it, I added a quick connect to the OEM also in case it is needed to pass state inspection.
