Yeah but a giant opening in a shoebox sized car definitely doesn’t feel the same as on a JLU... Not getting it nor saying it’s the next best thing, just that you can’t really compare... ;)
Removing the freedom panels is a far cry from top off/down. The power top - while now front and back seat - will be slightly more than the freedom top. The door surrounds, edge of top, roll bar, sound bar... it boxes you in.

My favorite thing about the Sky One Touch is just the ability to press the top down button and open some windows ever time I leave work. I know it isn't as great as all outdoors (having the doors and top completely off), but wow this is realy convenient. And that convenience offers more open sky time for me.

I do not have to pay attention to the weather forcaster. I can see the rain coming and still open the top without a worry.

What the ?$%$@!!!

CONFIRMED:
The Sky One-Touch Power-Top HAS BEEN REMOVED from Jeep.com as an option for both the Rubicon and Sahara model on the Jeep website! :surprised:

This add a new wrinkle... I hope someone from FCA can provide a statement or publish an update to last August's Production Timeline. We need some clearer comminications from Jeep.

Come on Sergio, throw us a crumb. ;)

And then... let me order the Sky One-Touch Power-Top:like:

Yeah right. It was a typo alright. Knowing jeep, it was probably too low!
Conversation at Jeep’s head office :
Ted :« Hey Bob, hold on, hold on, look at all these guys like @Gregodav waiting for the PT, pretty sure if we sell it for 5K they’ll still buy it !!! »
Bob : « Hold my beer Ted. »

I have been amazed how little power-top conversation has occurred on the forum. I am an early adapter of everything! I admit I did fall in love with this option.
If Jeep would keep this as an option for a few years it will ultimately be a big seller.
I doubt the Marketing VP will be patient enough to let sales grow.
If I was there Marketing VP, I would kickoff power-top sales with a great intro price and let the dealers fill up their lots this spring.
Everyone who sells convertibles or motorcycles knows that you can sell at a premium in the spring.
Unfortunately, I forgot to fill out a job application at Jeep in time to be considered... And evidently, Sergio and Mike have both been to busy to call.

Honestly the power top leaves me cold, so if it went away and never came back it would make no difference to me. Clearly, though, you (and presumably) others have a strong attraction to it. As a friend of mine likes to say "That's why Baskin-Robbins sells 31 flavors!". :)

I think they'll sell a bunch of these. Not ordered by buyers. But from dealer stock. The dealers will sell the hell out of these to folks new to Jeep or anyone they can. They look great and are perfect for the Unlimited market.

We heard a number people recently saying their dealers told them the Power-Top would not be available until 4tb quarter.

Was that dealer "group bewilderment" or a leaks from FCA corporate?

Has there been a history of Jeep offering and then removing option?

I'm still being told Power Top availability is imminent.
