With 4.56’s or 3.73’s ? 3.73’s should attain a higher top speed. ie my 69 GTX was still accelerating at 170 with NASCAR gears, geared for 1/4 mi and 1 foot top speed for drags it would have been less.
I think it would be drag limited long before rpm. Even with 4.56s the .67-1 overdrive puts it at 205mph at 6k rpms on 35s. I don't think 470hp is enough to push this brick to that speed period.

Montana used to have "no speed limit" back in the day, I tested that in my Trans Am and was pulled over. Tldr, cops told me over 85 they'd stop you. I said, "You should put up a sign."
Montana had to be threatened with loss of federal highway funding for failure to institute the otherwise universal 55 mph speed limit. After that, Montana issued tickets for, if I remember correctly, $5 fuel economy violations. They basically flipped the feds the bird. It was HI-larious at the time.

Fed extortion circumventing states rights using our tax dollars as usual. Same reason every state has a 21 year old drinking age and a seatbelt law. The free thinking states still do the same. AZ seatbelt law applies to front seat passengers and car seats only (federal minimum) and has a $5 fine.

Yes, I had read that as well. The truth is I did not get a $5 ticket, they wrote me for reckless speed and I had to see a judge because of a clerical error in Pennsylvania that also suspended my license. Imagine my surprise...

Yikes!

In the 70s and 80s the DMV data sharing between states was very poor, so, often, the licensing state never learned of tickets earned in other states. That probably saved my ass.... Now, thanks to massive federal funding support, states are communicating much more effectively and completely. There are still LOTS of errors, unfortunately, many of which originate with the sentencing courts, so they are difficult to fix.

Figured out on my wore out old XJ that you can actually floor it and accelerate out of the death wobble. Once your above 70mph I never got out to wobble. I think it was a combination of spinning the tires faster and taking some weight off the front end that would get the oscillation to stop. Sketchy but it worked many times.

Yes, I also learned that the hard way. Moved out of New York with an unpaid muffler ticket and got a license in another state. Went to renew a few years later and they had connected their computers. Suddenly I couldn't renew without paying the old fine and a "driver assessment fee" for NY license I no longer had. Perinton court clerk ruined my life for a couple weeks. Geico dropped me for 'redlining' practice. This was almost 20 years ago. They eventually took me back and I have them still today.
