Speaker issue?

It is definitely coming from under the steering wheel I thought it was the left mid range speaker but I want to check this grill myself that you just pointed out. Is there a way we can get in there to disconnect that speaker to check?

It is definitely coming from the panel under the steering wheel try this put the balance on the top left speaker only and listen. There’s something behind that panel or it’s just a void behind the panel that is resonating. Maybe we could pull that panel and put some sort of Foam in there to dampen the sound I don’t think it’s a speaker.

He didn’t have a speaker issue; he was adding that red switch. I’m going to see if I can get that panel off and pin point the problem.

I have a scratchy/Static sound when using my iPhone. I will try talk radio when I get home. It sounds like the speaker is blown when people talk. My wife paired her phone and tried using just USB connection and they both sounded the same. @JeepCares Is this something I need to contact my dealer about?

Any news on this? I think I have the same issue and notice it most with Google Voice and Waze. I did notice it with regular voice on the radio as well but it wasn't as apparent. I was going to try with another phone to see if my phone was the cause as I don't hear it with music.

Put the bass to max and listen to talk radio. A guy like Howard stern with a deeper voice really makes it crazy. It has to be just a vibration in that space. When you hear it push on the speaker screen. I still haven’t taken off that panel yet.

I'm having the same issue with my Alpine system. It sounds like the speaker is busted and I only hear it with vocals. Seems to be coming from the front left spear near the steering wheel.

I was worried the dealer gave me a floor model someone cranked up too high, but after reading this thread it seems like something more systemic with the install or the design.

Not sure what to do about it. Would the dealer swap the speaker out.....and would that even help?

I don't think it's the speaker, it's a certain tone that's making it vibrate something inside the dash I think. I tried to listen for it today and couldn't really pinpoint where its coming from. I'll try and grab a recording next time and see if were all hearing the same thing.

It's a sound similar to Charlie Brown's mom.
