Been looking at a Rubicon X w/ a sot top. Question for the owners: if you parking inside (my garage) can you just leave the top open or are you supposed to close it?
Also, did you install the hotheads SOT headliner? I was looking at one today (AZ - 108 degrees), man those cross bars get hot?

Thanks

It will be sticking up a bit when open, do you have the clearance ?
Jeep Wrangler JL SOT owners - question? 7E969979-A5D4-4821-AB68-9AEB9C9EF382

I don’t have a hothead, but suspect it will make the folds stick up more.

Thanks

Yes, I've got an 8 foot garage door. That should not be an issue.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't leave it open. I put the hothead liner on and it does wonders for heat reflection. It also helps with the acoustics for the radio. It doesn't reduce road noise appreciably.

I always close mine in the garage, open as soon I pull it out (weather permitting).

Habit from the 2010 Camaro convertible I had. The top would learn the open position during hot weather and show the crease/fold areas on close.

I have left my SOT open for months without closing it. I got lucky and didn’t get caught in any rain. It was not a problem at all. I also have the Hotheads headliner installed. As others have said, it is great for deflecting heat. I also added the Hotheads mesh cover. It works under the headliner and SOT. My family loves it when stuck in traffic or at red lights in the summer. It is easy to see through and helps with wind and sun. It is also easy to remove when you just want open air.

If you get the Alpine radio, don’t forget to bump the top closed an inch to keep the closed rood sound profile. The roof open profile is too hollow sounding for many of us.

Good luck!
