Agree with all the replies above. 17,600 on mine and 16 months into ownership. Only caveat is I might have gone with the 392 had it been out because, well, 392.
I had a 392 before this 4xe. It was fun and sounded amazing, but at my altitude (4,700ft), this 4xe is almost as fast as the 392. For ever 1,000ft elevation you lose 3% power with a NA engine. This hybrid with electric and turbo is much more fun.

Absolutely. The battery is never at 0% and is never fully "depleted"- there's always a reserve that is continually charging and discharging. It always acts as a hybrid.
All the torque, all the time! ?
Wow. I’m genuinely shocked. I couldn’t get a clear answer on this in any review or article I came across. This was the one thing that really had me on the fence. So you have 375hp and 470lb torque available at all times regardless of battery charge? Amazing. Now that makes it so much more interesting and makes way more sense. Thanks for confirming.

You are correct, the power output remains the same even when <1% battery. The exception is that I have found if you are pulling a long steep hill, you can deplete the battery low enough below 1%, that you start to lose that additional assistance. It didn't really have a big impact though because you still have the 270ish hp 2.0L to keep you moving.

In normal driving, this pretty much never happens because the system will constantly be topping off the battery to keep it around 15% charged. This will be displayed to the driver as <1% though which can be a little confusing. The idea is to keep a kind of "hidden" reserve of battery power so that the system can continue to provide the rated power output even when the battery is showing empty.

If you're really concerned about not having enough power to pull a trailer or something up a long steep hill, I guess you could activate "eSave - Charge" mode while driving on flater roads before a hilly section which will start (slowly) charging up the high voltage battery so it can provide more assistance during a long uphill climb. This is almost certainly not necessary though and I think leaving it Hybrid mode is probably the best choice for most people.

I would say that is impossible when the big battery is (close to) 0%.
It is just in hybrid mode, that does not mean it is giving "all the torque, all the time". It gives what it can, depending on the battery juice levels.

Torque numbers are based on normal hybrid operation.

That's the thing though, the battery isn't actually at 0% when it shows empty on the cluster. There is another 15% below that before the battery is actually physically depleted. They system really never lets the battery get low enough that it can't output the advertised power numbers. *Unless* you are doing some kind of heavy hauling up a grade with an already "empty" battery, then it can go far enough below "zero" that it fades out electric assistance and you're down to only the gas motor. This isn't really a common thing though. In normal driving, even with the battery showing empty, if you put the hammer down, you'll feel the gas and electric motors working just as strong as ever.

For this, it is worth appreciating such forums, since practice will tell more than an article.

My .02 is that our 4xe Rubi is easily the best jeep I've ever owned. The extra weight makes her happier in crosswinds at highway speeds, the hybrid system is genuinely quick for the platform and thus far we are averaging roughly 27mpg during the winter.

There's a couple of quirks associated with going hybrid like not getting a completely flat floor when the seats are folded down but nothing that would change my decision making. We took her over Eisenhower pass (11,158') the other day and I was literally giggling about having all of the ponies and watts available for that final climb. The old 3.6 JLUR was positively wheezing above 8,000'.

In total agreement with everything. I only live at 5k feet but that's enough to give other powertrains (especially NA ones) a struggle but this thing has a ton of grunt from the electric motors and of course the little turbocharger. Can't wait to tow my R-Pod with it. About 3k pounds should really test it's power.
