My plan is to use a couple of storage hooks like these:

I am not sure if 5" is large enough or if I will need the 7.5".
The windows will go into the oem mopar bag, and laid flat on top of my hardtop storage shelf where the freedom panels are currently stored. the hardware will get stored in a box above as well.

I just take it off and throw it on a metal chair. This'll be the third year doing it and no issues so far.

This is what I’m leaning towards as well

I use my Harken Hoist and put it where the hard top goes during the summer. The tops just trade places twice a year.

Leave it on. Brave the winter with a soft top. It’s really not that bad.
How does that work with the rear window? Don’t they get really brittle in cold weather, and you aren’t supposed to be manipulating them? So how do you open the rear window to put stuff in the trunk?

anyways I swap, have two storage hooks for like $10, works great.

No issues with the rear window. I seldom have a need to open the tailgate. My rear seats are folded and anything I need to move can either fit in the back thru the rear doors or sit in the front passenger seat.

No issues because you don’t use it, or no issues because you can fold it? I have a big car seat installed in the rear so folding the seats is a big pain in the butt. Everything goes in through the tailgate.

I don't have a soft top now but I did on older jeeps. I just used to fold them up loosely and put them in the garage or shed for the winter. They always came out just fine in the spring. Just don't pile boxes on top of them and clean them before putting them away.

In my TJ, it’s not uncommon for me to drive around with the rear window removed. This will be my first fall and winter with the JL but I can’t imagine it being worse.

I currently drive around in my JL with the rear window removed and the A/C off.

Last winter my buddy kept his JL in soft top mode with the rear window in place. He had zero issues with the plastic on the rear window being brittle, cracking or being finicky. We had torrential rain and lots of wind.

Even in cold days with the soft top on the heater kept the JL nicely insulated and warm. Visibility wasn’t hindered as much as I thought it would be.

North Texas. I’m outside Chicago. Our winters are different ;)
