Soft top separates from frame

2018 Jeep Wrangler JL

First time jeep owner who may have made a mistake. I drove with the rear and side windows removed, but still had the top on. Later, I noticed that the top had separated from the frame bars. Was it a mistake or just coincidental? Regardless, how do I fix it? I purchased heavy duty velcro, but before I try it, I was hoping to get some input. Is there prep I need to do beforehand? Is there a better option?

Mine ripped from the bows in violent fashion the day I forgot to latch the windshield header and it flew open a 45 mph. I used gorilla fabric glue to secure it 6 months ago and it's still holding strong.

That's normal operation that shouldn't have damaged the top. Someone did a crappy job at the factory.

Did you leave the cloth that was originally there between the frame and the top and apply the glue or did you strip it away?

Do you have a picture of the damage?

Did you leave the cloth that was originally there between the frame and the top and apply the glue or did you strip it away?

I left it in place, cleaned it with a damp cloth and let it dry out.
