I actually really like that red and blue. Congrats! It finally arrived! I imediately took the top off and get it installed.. It's not 100% perfect but it's pretty sweet IMO.
First I'll say that the packaging is good. I expected this to be folded up but there are rigid components to the JTop.

Each buckle has a strip of neoprene under it to prevent the buckles from scratching the paint. It's a nice touch that seems to work well. There is also a smaller buckle on the inboard side of each strap to hold the excess strap material, keeping it out of the way.

However, be careful with the neoprene. I'm not sure if this was a defect or if I screwed up. The pad is just being held on by the outer layer of fabric. This doesn't hurt functionality because the pressure of the strap is holding it in place once the buckle is fastened. I'm not planning to return it.

As you've seen with others and you can see here, the fit is absolutely perfect. This is a VERY well made product.

PROS: super tight fit that looks fantastic. It is also a well made product.
CONS: Expensive and it took 1 month and 1 day to get it after ordering.

No, how about you get one and report backAnyone had this shade from Rugged ridge?

I actually think this is a very good option for people with soft tops. It covers all edges leaving no gaps, also no cut off for freedom panels, specifically designed for soft tops. It costs about 1/3 and 1/2 of other options. I do see bigger openings in holes, so it probably less effective as a shade, but provides a bit more open air comparing to others.
Can anyone comment on this shade?
I would think that regardless of the Sunshade that you bought that you would be best to be pro-active and place some clear 3m protective film on the painted bar section that the shade material comes in contact with.Does either the Alien or Spiderweb shade have a soft bottom where it lays over the paint in the rear bar? I thought I read that somewhere...? Someone else posted a pic showing that it scratches the paint. Any update on the build of either one?
That was me. The post is at the bottom of page 24 of this thread. I ended up sending it back to Spiderwebshade on their dime to have it fixed, and they informed me that they no longer put the soft felt on the bottom of the shade, due to fears of unintended water retention on top of a potentially scratched sport bar. Instead, they added two more bungees near the back (not on the back edge), and two aluminum anchors for me to screw in. They also sent me a large strip of clear film to stick to the paint, and two small patches of clear film to protect from the plastic nubs on the back corners. I put the small patches on, but couldn't get the large strip to adhere without creases, and it looked bad, so it pulled it off. I don't know if I will invest any more time into trying to figure out a solution. I may end up shelving it or getting a two piece front and rear set from someone else, because those don't rest on top of anything.Does either the Alien or Spiderweb shade have a soft bottom where it lays over the paint in the rear bar? I wish a speedy delivery upon you. But don’t count on it.Dang a month for your Jtop? I ordered mine early this week and was told 10-12 days “or longer”- I’m hoping that the case is more like 10-12 days.
Available in mid August, I will give a try and report back. No, how about you get one and report back. It looks great for the money.
