Well this is rather unfortunate but after about a year since having the top replaced under warranty, it's detaching from the bows once again.

Strangely enough this time it started from the side and not the middle like before.

Did you find anything that works?
I bought a replacement premium top from a guy on Marketplace who only used his hard top. Pretty nice upgrade from the standard top, and it slid right on to the existing rails. I still don't know what causes the fabric to detach, but I'm avoiding car washes and flipping the top up while driving.

same issue, warning it can be come dangerous when driving with all the sides on, the wind get in and under the roof and lifts it up, it nearly broke the front brackets. Jeep won't cover it and the dealerships are trying to milk it for hours of labor when Mopar says with intermediate skill it takes 1.5 hours to complete. Look at the mopar site and you can get on for 5-700 dollars. Don't know what the guy who got it on market place paid

Is there any fix for this? Top pulled away from 2 bows today.

All of a sudden, the soft top has detached (seems like a fabric material was holding them together) from all the folding bows, keeping me from being able to properly raise and lower the soft top. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Is there an adhesive available that I could apply to reattach?
I used this to fix the problem. Put a bunch above the bar. Pushed at it from the top and then smoothed out any extra. Also made sure to reattach as much of the fabric as I could that is on the forward side

Both my 2021 and our 2020 have this same issue. Jeep Wave used to monitor these conversations, does anyone know if there’s a TSB for this failure?

so this looks like it's just glued?

Try a product called stitch witch or that stuff shown above. Be careful, that stitch witch is more evil than kragle.

The flexible fabric that once held the bars to the canvas literally disintegrated and became a black dust that ruined my tan seats and any clothes that sit on the seats. No amount of steam cleaning or vacuuming has completely eliminated the dust from the connection fabric. @JeepCares needs to follow and address this issue. Thousands of soft tops produced and sold are having this issue.

not to mention that in order to fold the top down I have to scale the body and manually push the fabric into the areas between the soft top skeleton and somehow reach over and engage the release. Most often the fabric just pulls all the way down and the skeleton stays on top of the roll bars, and I have to put the top all the way back up and start over hoping the have enough fabric “stuck” between the skeleton so the bars will roll over the mechanism to the folded position.

Thank you for tagging us. We understand your disappointment and would like to look into this further. Please send us a private message with the last eight characters of the VIN, mileage, and any photos you may have of the fabric issue so we can share this with our team.

The Aleenes fabric glue is the way to go. My front bow detached and I used some of this glue and it holds strong even at 80mph. For all of us with the soft top this isn't a defect. Soft tops are a wear item and generally 5-7 years is average. I have the premium top and am going on 6 years with it so repairs are to be expected. You may also have a local upholstery shop that can do repairs. These tops sit in the sun all the time and especially when down the 1st bow is completely exposed. It’s like a pair of jeans. Do you expect them to last forever without having to replace them?

My 21 standard soft top is doing the same thing. All 4 bows have separated from the top. I open and close my top with care making sure it sits properly when opened. Took it to the dealer and was told that it wasn't something that will be covered under warranty. The paper like material attached to the top is clearly a manufacturing issue and with other people having the same issue shows that I'm not trying to mishandle the soft top. From what I can tell it's only the standard version that has this issue. I put in a help ticket with fca customer care and called back today to check my status and they told me they didn't have my status number and also that it wouldn't be covered. How does a vehicle with bumper to bumper coverage not warranty a soft top due to manufacturing defects? Is anyone having this covered and if so information was needed to prove to them in order to correct this issue.

This is exactly what happened to both of my soft tops.

Glue should not fail inside a few years...

It’s not glue. It’s the fabric that fails. Yes it’s normal. Everyone has there own preference for tops.
