Ok. This is weird but I have also had my Jeep since February and only noticed the “D” yesterday! Do you suppose it’s an update thing? Or, are we both going bonkers?

Note that it wasn't always an option. My 2020 didn't render that until the dealer applied an update.

My antique 2018 shows the gear number by the “D” and I can set it up to be there or not using the dash configuration whatchamacallit buttons on my steering wheel… ….

Is this on the sport? Anybody know.

I will check when I get a chance but right now it just displays a D. If in manual it replaces the D with what gear your in, that's it, never seen what gear your in displayed next to the D.

Go into your screen setup and see if you have the option available.

Screen Setup

Push and release the up or down arrow button until the Screen Setup Menu Icon/Title is highlighted in the instrument cluster display. Push and release the OK button to enter the submenus and follow the prompts on the screen as needed. The Screen Setup feature allows you to change what information is displayed in the instrument cluster as well as the location that information is displayed.

I am confused, setup on the steering wheel, or setup on the big screen? I just recently learned how to change the auxiliary switch settings, now going to learn about the gear indicator setting. I always wondered how people knew what gear that they are in.

edit: watched the video, I am good. cant help but think about my daughter and I both driving a Jeep limited grand Cherokee, she had hers hooked up to her phone by day two and could do all this neat stuff, start it, doors not locked, etc etc etc. . I never did any of it.

But, you should have seen us old crowd rocking to the Little River Band live concert last night in Paducah KY. Good show.

Setup on the steering wheel for the information on the dash, you can always check the owners manual but it does allow you you to choose several options and where you want them placed on the info screen
