I was given my VON and a status of order confirmed at the dealership before I left. Six weeks later and I still do not have a VIN.
I ordered a week ago and I’ve gotten absolutely nothing. UPDATE: I do have the VON and the VIN now. Is it too late to change the color once you have the VIN? I have not heard anything from Jeep.
Damn that's worrying. I ordered from a dealership a few hours away so we did things via phone and email but it at least included a price protection confirmation via email. Did your dealership have any info or advice regarding your wait for a VIN? Looking at the posts others made about their orders it seemed like the VIN usually came up quick. Then again most people seem to have a VON instantly and yet..
I ordered mine through Gupton motors. I think they are extremely above board and when I spoke to Renee she assured me there was nothing abnormal about this process. She said many times order confirmed will move through production and delivery very quickly when it does change to D1. I appreciate a lot of the tracking data but almost wish I did not have access to it. I do think the 392 takes a little longer because of the tweaks and maybe supply chain for some items but if you do the math… there are 9 (392s) in production, and 12 delivered out of 106 confirmed. For me, I average this out and say 10 a week. That puts a 10 to 11 week schedule for mine. I’m hoping for sooner but prepared for longer.Damn that's worrying. Makes me wonder if a ton of Jeep orders have gone in recently since fall is usually the time to buy, coupled with chaos caused by the risk of a railworker strike putting manufacturers on edge.
Yeah, I have heard that they seem to accelerate to take advantage of tax benefit. I think not looking and just anticipating is the answer. Renee told me the first day 3-8 months... I don't know why I am expecting it to me the person that gets picked to beat the system? It's fun to hope and hard to wait.
I will live with it, fortunately I like several colors and am second-guessing myself!
My order was in C status when I asked about changing the color (after the release of Reign and Earl). I was previoulsy told that as long as the VIN has not been issued, you could amend your order. The dealership was not too happy and they had to get it authorized by the local Jeep rep. They did come through and I was able to change the color. Now in D1 status so I don't think it really held me up changing.
I ordered a manual 4 door Willy’s in sting gray 8 weeks ago. No contact since then. Any idea how long it will take?
