I am a bit of a “buy once and cry once” kind of guy so I typically buy the best quality that I can afford. Every now and then, there are products that are very good that do not break the bank and seem to be worthy of taking a chance on which may not be “ultra name brand”.

I am slowly adding to my recovery tools and will be adding a snatch block to the kit. I like the design of a forged steel snatch block and I see three models which catch my eye.

Warn – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H4PFQFI

Which of these would you buy and does anyone have suggestions outside of these?

Add my vote to Gear America. I have their recovery straps and d-rings.

I don't recommend Gear America - rebranded Chinesium....

Got a phone, tablet, or computer? Probably made in China. Like every country, some stuff is good quality, some is not. True of America too.

Cool story, but you're comparing apples to oranges. Recovery gear is different, and should be properly RATED and MARKED, and above all it should be independently tested to failure.

Does Gear America (dot net) do this? And do they provide full transparency on materials used and destructive testing results like Factor 55 and other reputable purveyors of USA made recovery gear?

I can't seem to find that anywhere, so until I have hard facts I can't recommend their gear. It does look better than Smittybilt at least.

Sure it was the "mega" kit or their standard kit? I saw the standard kit for that as well. The Mega kit has the heavier shackles and snatch block.
Maybe it was the standard. I was looking at the orange rings

Just had a good conversation with a Rep at Gear America in Florida about the Ratings/Testing and manufacturing of their products. We also discussed some of their future product development and production plans for several U.S. made items. I'm more than comfortable with the reliability and warranty or their products.

@Loki Kai - are their mega snatch blocks currently made in the US?

If you decide to go with the Gear America they have the Mega on sale for 69.95 on their website and a 10% discount code you can use there or on Amazon. PM me if you need details.
