Yes agreed, thanks all for the pics. My Rusty's plate is in the shipping process and will be at my house mid week next week.

Feel very confident that this should have no problems for my X2O 10k.

I went with the Smittybilt XRC9500 because it was a few pounds lighter, but I really like that X20. Sharp!
I’m comparing the Smittybilt xcr/9500 with synthetic and the x20/10000 with synthetic. I’m mounting it on a 4-Door Rubi-Unlimited. So... I’ve never had a winch before and like the idea of the xcr / 9500 being 20 lbs lighter and $100 less so I’m leaning in that direction Any advice on this comparison would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had exactly the same debate. I went with the lighter weight, because that will benefit you during the 99.9% of the time you are driving and not winching. The advantages of the X20 will only give you a slight benefit during that rare time that you are winching. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but weight adds up quickly with mods. I work hard to keep it as low as possible.

Definitely not hard to pile on the weight... 9500 lb capacity should be enough to get myself out of a ditch, snow bank.. I’m not looking to bury it to the axles. I did that when I was 17 years old in my 55 Chevy pickup. Ha! Dumb. How much synthetic rope is on the xcr spool?

I'm not sure. Mine is sitting in the box. I've got my JCR plate. I just need a little warm weather and a little time and I'll get this sucker unboxed and mounted up, then we'll know. I'm guessing 80 feet.

Why the JCR plate... I was looking at a Rusty’s as well. Does on fit this winch better? Thank for your input. Appreciated.

I liked that it had more mounting or anchor points than Rusty's, even though it is slightly thinner steel. Really, it was a coin toss. I'd have been fine with the Rusty's. I was also betting that the JCR might be a couple pounds less, but that's totally a guess.

Thanks... looking forward to see a photo of it mounted when you get it installed. I’ve got the time, just not the Jeep. Cheers

Installed my X20-10k today. Took a little longer than I was planning trying to get the wiring how I wanted it and since I was doing it solo. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Just need the mounting brackets for the Mopar lights and the front end is done.

Winch Weights:

I'm not trying to be argumentative but I don't think there's as much of a weight difference between the Synthetic rope versions of Smittybilt XRC vs. x2o...

The literature from Smittybilt (attached) says these weights which i think is incorrect.

X2O 10,000 - 99 lbs
XRC 9,500 - 78lbs

That's a big gap and I'm guessing that's with steel cable since it doesn't reference either steel or synthetic line.

BUT if you look at shipping weights from Amazon-

X20 10,000 Sythetic = 64.4lbs (67 lbs on Quadratec)
https://www.amazon.com/Smittybilt-9...pID=5143HL33xxL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
https://www.quadratec.com/products/92122_1310_07.htm

XRC 9,500 Synthetic = 65lbs
https://www.amazon.com/Smittybilt-9...pID=51eFxzlGM8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

I'm in the process of mounting X20 and it is no where near 99 lbs is all I'm saying.

I think there very close to each other in actual weight.

Mid winch install with Rusty's plate. I goofed and need to better manage the wiring to tuck it in under the grill (any tips?). The wiring out of the back of the winch to the controller box I think just needs to "point down" to tuck it under. I stopped as it was getting late.

Wiring - do you mean to the battery or to the controller box? I need to point my connections at the back of the winch "down" I think to be able to tuck it better. I'm not to the point of getting to the battery yet, but saw the mopar instructions for routing.

Looks awesome.

I spent WAY to much time mounting those little tiny screw / nuts on the controller box to the middle of the winch. Either it's a bad design, bad angle or maybe my black "hooks" are bent but I bet I spent 30 minutes on that! :(

The controller box was a bit of a pain to attach like you said. I kept screwing and unscrewing the wires from the controller box to the winch to try and get them to lay right. They’re pretty thick and not very bendy so I couldn’t get them under the grill all the way. I got them as close as I could and then zip tied them together. Ran the battery wires under the grill and up the side by the air intake and then along the battery box so they weren’t all over the place.
