My local dealer is charging $20K on his 392s. The sad part is I laughed and left. I came back to show it to my wife the next day before ordering one for MSRP somewhere else…all three of his were sold. If they can get the money than I understand why they do it. I just won’t pay it.

We're in the midst of an unprecedented seller's market.

It wouldn't occur to me to pay a so-called Market Adjustment, but I can understand the temptation to do so. This is doubly true when considering the buyer who walks into the showroom, flush with his above-sticker-price proceeds after selling his Jeep to Vroom.

The closest I've come to losing my head in such matters is when I voluntarily paid MSRP for a first-model-year motorcycle. From experience, I knew full well that waiting just one year would allow me to pay less than sticker, but I wanted what I wanted. Having a $5K trade-in valuation ready to go made the medicine go down a bit easier.

Today's Wrangler buyer isn't being gouged. Price gouging occurs when price increases are used out of proportion to their necessity for rationing when applied to consumer essentials that are or will be in short supply: medications, personal hygiene items, food, etc. Like it or not, no one needs a 392.

One dealership local to me was charging MSRP and the rest was 15k-30k, I almost went to the MSRP dealership but he showed me someone else's POC that showed MSRP and FWP and when I questioned it he couldnt give a straight answer.

Quality of service performed probably isn’t that great either.
Service was always good. I’ve been using them for years.. This dealership service was rated high in my area. I never bought/leased from them, I always found a better deal/price.
Guess I’m finding out next week when they replace my aluminum steering box… 🤞🤞

Law of supply/demand. Get over it, or admit that we're "gouging" when getting below invoice pricing. It works both ways...and, 99% of the time the supply/demand imbalance works in the purchaser's favor. If you don't like additional markup, walk away.

Went for my Jeep cares oil change yesterday and finally got dealership to acknowledge a replacement steering box, 3rd times a charm, LOL.
Was looking in showroom while waiting for service and came across a 392, which looked great till I saw the sticker…

These dealers are insane. It seems to be commonplace these days with the sought after vehicles though. Crazy

It’s all a game….and they’re looking for suckers. That said the only person that could afford that kind of mark up is a cash buyer….no bank or credit Union will loan extra money for dealer markup. The 392 isn’t exactly a rare commodity. It’s already overpriced before the markup.
