Good morning y'all, just a simple question. I want to replace the factory shocks and do not want to pay for them the rest of my life. I mostly do Jeep Badge of Honor and trails from 1-7 in difficulty. I have a 2021 Willys, 4 door, no lift and rolling on 33"s. Any suggestions please?

Fixing stupid....
The factory shocks are actually not bad at all.

Especially if you are not going to lift or add a bunch of weight.

If you are really set on replacing just the shocks, Rancho RS9000XL's adjustable shocks for the JL have a lifetime warranty.

Any of the expensive shocks such as King, FOX, & Falcon have fairly short warranties, and most call for at least a rebuild every 30,000 miles or so.

High-end usually means rebuildable, which means on-going costs associated with rebuilds. Most shocks should be replaced (or rebuilt) every 50k miles, even lifetime shocks. Since you didn't say you're trying to go-fast in the desert or washboard, I'd keep the stock shocks and replace them at 50k miles with something similar (Bilstein, OME, etc).

I put Bilstein 5100s on my Silverado a few years back to replace the crappy OEM “Rancho” shocks and love them; the perfect mix of firm, controlled and still day to day livable ride. I’ve wanted to replace the ones on my Wrangler with them but honestly it rides so well I’m hesitating doing it.

Probably doesn’t help other than to say the 5100s are great shocks.

Rancho shocks have been getting excellent reviews in Jeep circles for years. So do Teraflex/Falcon shocks.

Personally, I’m very happy with the Fox shocks that came with the Mopar lift. And the Bilstein shocks that came standard on my Tacoma TRD Off-Road were also excellent.

THIS

Suspension is a pretty cool thing to know more about. I have a well-tuned motorcycle and spent quite a bit of time learning about the dos/don'ts, the whys/why-nots, compression/rebound, etc. It all applies to on-road vehicles (cars/trucks). It's a pretty fascinating and good skill to have or understand.

Old Man Emu Nitrocharger - black/yellow choice
Rancho 9k - red/white choice and adjustable
Fox 2.0 - silver choice
All under $180 each.
All good shocks. I've used them all.

Thanks to all of the input. I think I will retain the factory shocks.
