I took my Jeep in for the cruise control recall back in June. After the recall was complete the technician noticed the above warning on the EVIC, no low tire pressure warning light and the pressures read fine. FCA told them to replace the instrument cluster. After waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive they plugged it in and that didn't fix the issue (not that I thought it would). They opened a STAR case on it through FCA. Now they want to try swapping wheels and tires, but they don't have any, lol. Ordered those and a TPS module just in case.

I did take possession of my Jeep for 2 of the 3 weeks while waiting for the cluster. The cluster has to be ordered with the current odometer reading, so technically it wasn't supposed to be driven. The service department is really trying and they were understanding since I had this wheeling trip planned well in advance of even buying the JLUR, so they gave it back to me. I had tried not putting any excess mileage on it since I have a commuter, but I couldn't just let it sit in my driveway, lol.

At any rate, today makes 10 days out of service. According to NC Lemon Law they only have 10 more days out of service before I can go to the next step legally. I hope it doesn't come to that. I'm keeping a timeline just in case.

Are you running a programmer?

I do have a Flashcal, but it's not currently installed. The warning goes away when TPMS is turned off with the Flashcal. I think the problem is with the TPS module myself, but I'll just let them figure it out. It sucks because I'm an electronics technician and I want to throw my .02 in there, but I fear I'll just muddy the waters and throw them off their game. The systems are all interconnected with a CANBUS, and it seems to me they can just plug in and diagnose it that way, but maybe I'm using too much gray matter for this.

I was going to ask what happens when TPMS is off, makes sense to be the module if you can turn it on and off.

Considering the TPS in the tires are reading out and changing when heated up, I fail to see the logic in swapping wheels. That tells me all the TPS and transducer modules are good to go. There is most likely a loose connection / broken wire on the module.

New wheels / tires didn't fix it like I knew it wouldn't. They traced wires and checked connectors to no avail. Now they are going to swap the TPS module (duh). I'm at 14 business, 20 calendar days out of service.

TPS module was defective. Not sure why they didn't start there as that is the most likely culprit. At any rate, I got my Jeep back and it seems to be working fine.

Just got this message and I figured it was after a cold day that the tire pressure was low but now it won't go away. It has been there for 2 days and when I start the Jeep the front right tire pressure takes a little longer to show a reading then the other 3 tires. I'm wondering if mine is related to the fact that my tire pressure is below 37 (which is what it wants you to inflate to after a low reading) or if there is something wrong with the TPMS?

Depending on what Wrangler you have dictates what pressure needs to be, this applies if you are only running stock wheels and tires

For my Sahara the placard press says 36 and the TPMS alarms are factory set at 35 so when pressure gets down to 31ish the alarm pops up and says to inflate to 37 and this clears the alarm then one can air down but if you go below the alarm setpoints by 5# you will get the alarm again, if you have a programmer you can adjust the alarm points ( mine are set to 30 ) as I run my 315ā€™s at 29-30 so I wonā€™t get an alarm until 25

As far as the sensors updateing they donā€™t update with the vehicle setting and remember the last pressure, so if you pull into your garage and have been rolling and say pressures read 35 and you shut your Jeep down and come out the next morning after itā€™s cooled off they are still going to read the last recorded pressure until you roll down the road for a few minutes like maybe within a mile or so above 25 mph and will continue to update as long as your rolling

Once you get the alarm you have to inflate to what pressure it tells you to and after it clears you can air down

With the fluctuating temps this time of year in CO I often get a low pressure warning in the mornings which is quite common. However, mine will pretty much always say "service tire pressure system" when I start the vehicle for about 2-3 seconds, then it will switch the normal light for having a low tire. So it's almost like it triggers a check engine light for a few seconds until the sensors warm up then it acts normal.

Yea this is exactly what happened to me. I knew the low tire pressure symbol should there but when it said "Service Tire Pressure System" I was like that's weird. I aired back up this morning and then will adjust them back to my normal "cold" temperature either later tonight or early tomorrow morning. Definitely don't want to be doing this that often so it might be best to run with a higher temperature in the winter to avoid this issue especially being in the mountains of CO
