Rolled mine at a off-road park. What's the point in getting a Jeep if you're not going to use it for what it's meant for? Plenty of better SUV's for daily driving.

We crushed the stock steering stabilizer (why jeep mounts it under the tie rod is beyond me) and dented the oil pan on Holcomb creek in our 2019. New oil pan, relocated stabilizer, and an engine skid were purchased when we got home. Look at them as opportunities to upgrade. The 2022 got a full set of belly skids ordered the day we bought it. I try to learn from my mistakes.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Not sure it's meant to be poorly driven, you'd have to try hard to flop it in that spot.
I assume there's something gnarly behind the Jeep that contributed to the mishap, maybe a rogue Buffalo???

My bad, I didnt know you knew the park and trail we were on. Not shown is the trail we came off from the left, but I'm sure you knew that.

I won't deny it was inexperience, but I guess I'm the only one who's done it.. ?‍♂

I've had the new Jeep just over a month, and got some nice rock rash on 3 of the 4 rims this past weekend on a Class IV Rd in VT that ended up being much rockier than I anticipated. Luckily the rash is on the beadlock covers, which I should be able to take off and clean up if I find that it bothers me enough.

I have a few rock scratches in my rims and a few branch marks on my fenders from various trails in Moab - They are fond memories from the trip.

That said if I actually damage sheet metal or broke a light or window, I likely would fix that. Bumpers would be a bit of a grey area tho

As others stated it really depends where you go. And how extreme. Out here you’ll usually wind up with some form of desert pinstripes. I’ve seen friends end up with crushed side panels (and yes they had protection) (what happens when climbing up a rock that’s wet and slips off), broken tail lights. Dented upper panel (driving into a tree branch) etc. most damage is from under body so skids are always recommended. I’ve gone plenty of time on moderate stuff and no damage. Until there is. Slipped off a rock and broke my taillight as it got slammed into the rock.

There has been a little damage to my 2022 392 XR.

I almost peeled the front diff cover off on a big rock in Moab, so both diff covers were replaced with Next Venture dfferential covers and a set of Next Venture differential skids were added.

Stock skid plates were scuffed up and dented, and did not look like they would survive long, so they were replaced with MetalCloak UnderCloak skids.

The exhaust tips were bent and re-straightened, then despite a MetalCloak exhaust skid they were bent again. So the exhaust is currently being replaced (today) with an AWE Switchpath exhaust that has much better clearance.

The Mopar re-inforced OEM spare tire carrier was bent from dropping off of a 5' ledge in Moab, so it was replaced with a CavFab spare tire carrier.

The metal OEM rear bumper was bent on the Rubicon trail, so it was replaced yesterday with a CavFab rear bumper. The front bumper was replaced with a CavFab bumper at the same time, even though it only had some scrapes on it.

There were a number of bad brush scratches on the body that I thought were going to be permanent. But the local Auto detail shop was able to buff the entire body and get it looking better than new again. Then a total body PPF layer was applied.

The rims look like they have been through a meat grinder. I don't care.

Both side rock sliders have countless scrapes in them. I don't care.

I just ordered a new MetalCloak tie rod and drag link that are stronger than OEM because the OEM tie rod ends are starting to show enough wear that it is affecting how the steering feels.

I just ordered Dynatrac ball joints because the stock ball joints are getting loose.

All of this, and the Jeep odometer just turned over 12,000 miles this week.

So, yeah, there is some maintenance involved if you want to keep a good performing Jeep.

Got both my fenders within a few weeks of each other one at windrock in TN and one at uwharrie here in NC. Never understood being afraid of a bit of damage here and there, its what they were made for after all. Both of my mirrors have scratches on them and theres plenty of trail pinstriping.

Oh and the factory plastic skid plate had a scuff on it before 100 miles. Was in the rocks at Uwharrie 3 days after I bought her and came back off a rock I wasnt comfortable about and it tagged itself on the way down.
