I'm curious whether Android Auto will work via Bluetooth, without having to plug in a USB cable, since the S10 has an upgraded version of BT.

That's going to be one nice phone. I use my Note 8 and may get the Note 10 later in the year.

The Android Auto should work exactly the same as your other Android phone as the app won't change with a new phone.

This won't be changed as well. If I remember correctly, there's more that goes into it on the vehicle side for it to ever work with BT.

That's a shame. It programmatically excludes non-Google phones for marketing reasons or was there some actual technical reason why Samsung phones won't work?

@AnebuR

I think you have a misconception ..

Anyway, has nothing to do with the brand of the smartphone.

With Android Auto or Apple Car Play, apps .... regardless of the brand smartphone, the phone has to be tethered.

@AnebuR

Good luck with that and especially with that and your JL.

Oh, yes, I have read similar blurbs to the one at the link you posted.

Sure it would be terrific not to have to tether.... but indeed I/we will be.
Just posted the first link I found googing the supported phones while only skimming through the article. Actually went back and re-read it to find one disappointing tidbit: "No cars roll off the assembly line with support for wireless mode in Android Auto, and only a handful of costly third-party head units have it." The article is dated April 16, 2018. I doubt FCA would've had redesigned hardware going into our Jeeps since then.

You have to use Android Auto. You have to plug in your USB. I have everything working except it will not give me a notification that I receive a text nor will it read it to me. This is so frustrating. I feel punished for not being an Apple girl lol. If you have any new thoughts, please let me know.

You probably need to allow permissions through Android. My fiance has a tendency to not understand the permission requests she gets when an application requests permissions to do things (access your text messages) and denies them.

@warrior0322

Are you talking Android Auto or Apple Car Play. You said punishment for being "Apple Girl".

Anyway, this thread was referencing the S10 with Android Auto.
