Looking for something to protect my JuiceBox cable when closing the garage door on it. I tried a few of the rubber mats from Amazon but they don't fit. The "lip" that my door closes into makes it a little tricker. Anyone have something they'd recommend? Thanks.

I'd bolt in a pressure treated 2x4 or 2x6 right against the lip for the door to rest on and add a slot for the cable to rest in. You could also cut the outside edge at an angle to make the lip less lippier. Depending on the thickness of the door you may need to chisel out a little bit of concrete so the cable doesn't get bent too much, but the lumber will hold all the weight of the door and not crush the cable.

That's a pretty nice weather seal gutter on your garage door. Rather than defeat it to run a cable, maybe cut a hole in the wall and install a tiny pet door that you can pass the cable through?

That wall is concrete masonry (like most houses in Florida), you'd be hard pressed to make a hole big enough for a small door without a ton of work and a little structural degradation.

Charge the jeep in side.

Been doing this for years on our other EV cars and our cable shows no wear at all just give it a little slack it’s really not a issue

This is what I'm leaning towards doing. But the way the door closes definitely puts more pressure on the cable since it wouldn't be running on a flat surface. The products I've tried from Amazon so far (including the UNDOR) all need to be put on a flat surface.

I don't really want to drill a big enough hole in concrete block to run the charger through the wall.

It's a small 2 car garage so usually keep one inside and one in the driveway.

It’s not an issue, until the fire.

Please note the melted cable sheathing in the linked video.

Looking at the picture, your garage looks to have a 2-3" lip to... so water probably doesn't enter your garage.

Would it be possible, (not sure of the correct terminology)
In the corner (in-line with the outside weather sill, where you already run the cable, "grind/grate" more of a SLOPE removing the 90° angle
THEN
On the flat surface where the garage door sill actually shuts and touches, make a channel just barely bigger than the cable.

Seems like that would take the tension off of the cable caused by the 90° angle and the channel would protect the cable from the door being shut on it.

Hopefully I explained this well enough to make sense... Because I swear it did in my head ! ?
