My 3-year 36000 runs out soon. Has anyone had their shocks replaced under warranty? I didn’t know if it was under powertrain or regular warranty. Thanks

Nope, but I just had mine taken off about a week ago and they were leaking too. I’m at 32,700 miles.

Covered under regular warranty. Don't bother buying another OEM set.

All four of mine were covered in oil at about 16k miles. Dealer replaced under warranty.

What do you all think the chances are of me getting mine replaced if I don’t take them in on the Jeep? I’ve upgraded, but wouldn’t mind getting some brand new ones to sell…

Zero. No way to tell what they came off your Jeep or not or how many miles are on them.

Figured as much, but I also figured maybe they’re number matched to my Jeep, which has 32k miles

replacing mine at 60K no leaking but feel it is time. Will be doing alot of hiway driving and I do not rock crawl, will only be doing some dirt road low level off roading. Probably just going with Teraflex 9550 shock set - if the day comes and I hope it will some time down the road that I need more then I will happily splurge for something more robust.

They fall under the bumper to bumper warranty not the powertrain warranty.

I was just going to ask what to look for.

When they are leaking, Im sure it depends on how bad the leak is, it it easy to detect ?

Did you notice a ride difference or did you see the leak first ?

Tnx

I could not tell a difference in the ride. I was rotating my tires and noticed the red shocks were now black and covered in oil and dust.

Both of my rear shocks were leaking on my 21 Rubi at 36k. I went with Fox on all 4 corners rather than dealing with the extended warranty.

Warranty or not the factory shocks aren't worth the time to drive it to the dealer and wait. It's 8 bolts and you don't even need to jack it up. A set of rancho or bilstiens can be had for $400 and not only will they dampen better than the stock shocks you'll be able to improve suspension travel by 30%. The 7" stroke of the stock Rubicon shocks is mediocre at best although the 5.25" sport/Sahara shocks make them seem like long travel I guess. Do yourself a favor and upgrade.

I had all 4 replaced under warranty around 20k miles. At 40k miles now and all 4 are leaving again. I'm just going to wait a little longer and replace them with after market.
