Must have been a last minute price hike. I ordered mine on 5/12 and got my window sticker on 6/3. $630 price increase for my Rubicon…..I hope the dealer still honors the price we agreed upon before the hike.
Anybody that ordered before price increase is protected as a “sold” order. ??

I could be wrong, but wasn't there a dealership that wasn't honoring the pre-January prices last go around?
You are remembering correctly. They ended up honoring price since they were not up charged. They were placing verbiage on their quote that stated if invoice went up they would not support, but sold orders were protected.

Chapman in PA, iirc.

Imo, it should depend upon whether or not you paid a deposit. No deposit = good luck, and putting down a deposit should = locked in price. Then again, I fail to understand why a dealership would even take an order for a $40 to $70k vehicle without a down payment of some sort (I know these days it's not a difficult sell if someone backs out, but that wasn't and won't always be the case).

Just checked my build on the Jeep website (still waiting on delivery) & it's now listed $600 more. Gonna call the salesman tomorrow & see if they'll honour original price. Remember, Jeeps are sold to the dealer, not directly to the customer; then the dealer sells it to the customer.

Honestly, I’ve been waiting 10 years for another Wrangler so $630 isn’t going to make or break the deal for me. If the dealer I purchased from still honors the price, I’ll be happy, if not, then I fork over a little more. It could be worse ??

Hah, good one. You promise you're immortal too?

While you and I might *live* by our word and that actually means something, I honestly can't count how many times I've had a customer call and ask to put something aside for them, that they'll be in tomorrow, only to never hear from them again. Not even a "sorry, something came up". And of course, there's been times when I've done that and could've sold the product (not cars) to someone else but wouldn't.

I've also seen here several times, where folks have placed multiple orders through different dealerships with full intention of bailing on their excess agreements. Sadly enough, a man's word these days most often doesn't mean shit and you can't shake a stranger's hand over the phone/internet.

Just got my window sticker notification on my 2022 Rubicon. Went to take a look and the price is $900 more than what I ordered it for. So I went to jeep.com and did my build and it looks like the base price of the Rubicon went up. Can anyone else confirm?
I ordered my Rubicon on 11-11-21 and Price was $ 58,050. I picked it up on 6-3-22 and the sticker was $ 60,350. So mine went up $ 2300. I still just had to pay original price.

Yep... my MSRP increased $3K from my December order. The dealer honored my old agreed to at MSRP price, and even better when FCA added the Wrangler to the Affliates program, he accepted the 1% below invoice for being a Tread Lightly member.

I thought for sure they would say sure but based on the new MSRP. Nope they gave me 1% below invoice on the old MSRP.
I got affiliates pricing through my emplyer on mine too. Was glad the Wrangler was added before I ordered. The savings alone paid for the XR package.

Just mentioning for those that might not be aware: Tread Lightly (part of affiliate pricing) costs $100 and gives you 1% under invoice. That's a huge discount compared to MSRP. You just have to make sure that you do it at least 30 days before you receive your Jeep.

So no deposits on anything?
I had to put down $500 on a Toyota for my wife last year, It was on a new car in transit 250 miles away. I was not happy but the wife wanted it. Where we lived in NC, everything was done on a handshake. This Jeep order was done on a handshake as well, so was the last truck I bought.

Yes, you’re right, times have certainly changed, and not for the better.
