Still trying to find a front license plate bracket that will work on the Rubicon steel front bumper. Just For Jeeps has this one but they are unsure if it will fit the new JL steel bumper. I kinda think it will possibly.

https://www.justforjeeps.com/68192045ab.html

It looks like the holes in the bracket and the dimples on the plastic center piece on the Rubicon steel bumper would match up but I have no measurements to go by. This bracket supposedly matches up perfectly with the metal Wrangler Hard Rock, X, 75th Anniversary and 10th Anniversary Rubicon front bumper's pre marked holes in the center plastic piece. I've come up with nothing specifically for the new Jl though so far.

Liked the pic/answer, still ;)
Steel Front Bumper
Front License Plate Bracket

I'm in California and my Jeep Build Sheet states there is a "bracket". I believe that's in his picture. How it connects I don't know.

My build sheet mentioned nothing about a bracket.

Mine didn’t come with one though it was apparently supposed to. I’m supposed to return it to the dealership to have it installed but, yeah, I’d rather drive it. Front plates are dumb and Colorado laws are ridiculous enough. Dreading registration day on this thing!

Mine came with one, it was in the rear cubby under the floor. However, they are not required in my new state!

Mine was missing. They pulled one out of a Rubicon that had regular bumpers and it did not fit. The Rubicon steel bumper bracket has a different part number than the regular bumpers. They ordered me one in. It should have been in a bag with your tool kit, and the rubber pad for your cargo tray in the rear.

Your dealer should really order it and give it to you. When they looked up my VIN, it showed that the Jeep come with one. They chalked it up to the detailers probably “misplaced” it.

What're you guys thoughts on the Sto n Sho license plate bracket?
CJ Off Road put up a video on YouTube of them installing it on the plastic bumpers of a sport and I just checked their website, they have it in stock for Rubicon Steel Bumpers but no pics of vids yet
Not too sure how i feel about drilling into the steel bumpers
Thought this would be a viable option for keeping my front plate on when I'm home in NJ (NJ requirement) and taking it off whenever I'm out of state (9 of the 12 months the Jeep will be in WV)

Found it here with some photos. Looks to me like it secures to an existing bolt on the underside of the bumper which would mean no drilling. Still waiting on my JLUR with steel bumpers so can't confirm that the bolt it's secured to in the photo are of the underside of the steel bumper. Can anyone confirm?

Edit: Zooming in on the bolt in question, it appears to be different colour than other bolts suggesting one hole may need to be drilled to secure it. Still far better than having holes in the front of the bumper so I will likely order this kit.

Mine came with a bracket. It and the screws were in the back storage cubby. Just put it on yesterday. Mounts to the plastic filler for the fairlead opening.
