I can't find the rubber plug on the driver's side to route my cable through. I have the Dometic 12v power kit and looking to route it to the rear for my fridge. Looking online and other videos, the 4Xe is just different enough in that spot (the reason why we can't use that kit for the air compressor in our 4XE's). I can see a plastic plug, on the engine side and a smaller one in the driver's seat well, but not sure if it is the same.

I am wondering if I should just drop the windshield and try to route through there, but was hoping to just route through the firewall.

Any advice? Really would help with some photos. The plastic plug on the firewall side seems awfully high up and so when I look in the wheel well, I am not certain it is even the same plug. Kind of have to contort there anyway to see in the seat well.

Perfect! That is the same plastic plug that I can see. Now I just have to figure out how to get some pliers on there!

Thanks!

I routed my 12V wiring for my fridge up through the windshield, down the top of the roll bar, and back into the cargo area. It took some time to pop all the panels, but you don't see any of it. I considered it easier than going under my Armorlite flooring.

I just carefully drill a hole through that plug and open the hole up to fit what ever wire, I have run GMRS power, antenna wire and lighting wire through there, when I’m done just seal with silicone which can be easily removed at a later date

That is what I did. I was trying to turn that plug and it just popped right out. I drilled a small hole and then I had a round rubber grommet and then routed the power cable through there. It was really easy.

Getting the kick panels off took way longer, I didn't want to break off one of those clips.

For my Genesis G-screen I lowered the windshield to route that cable, Of course in that case, the Gscreen was installed in the header.

Don't worry too hard about those clips, you can buy bags of them cheap on Amazon.
