I don’t know about you guys, but for me, I think the scariest thing is rolling. I know we all have gauges to tell us what our sight angles are, but once you lift your Jeep bigger, your tires are on, so my question is, has anybody attempted to check on what angle they would roll on? I imagine you would do something simple like hook a winch line to your roll bar and then take a high lift and crank it up and see what angle you get to before. It starts to really go over.

So, has anybody done something like this and figured out what your angle is?
Any documentation, YouTube videos, anything?

I know on Steel bender there is climb that absolutely gets your front tires very light :) I forgot to look at my angle meter...the crazy thing it does not look that steep in photos lol..same with potato salad hill I swear I was going to go over backwards on that towards the top.. that was a once was enough obstacle for me but when you look at it it does not look all that bad. I have seen some guys/gals go up stuff way steeper than I will try and I have been at 44-45 degrees and 31 degrees side hill....my sphinxter meter pegs out and I am done after that...

I'm not sure it'd do much good to try to measure it. The angles on a trail would be drastically different than in your driveway. And it'd vary based on how you loaded it up / who was in it / where they were sitting.

I regularly saw 35-40* forward and back on our trip to Moab this year and never really felt uncomfortable.

I can barely get my Jeep to lift a wheel using a hi lift, let alone get it to tip over.

Like others have pointed out suspension, terrain, tire pressure, speed, blah blah blah all make a huge difference.

My usuals:
10-15 degrees - mall crawling
15-20 degrees - Might be on the trail now
20-25 degrees - Having fun now
25-30 degrees - Cool obstacle bro
30-35 degrees (my personal best) Might want to check your pants
35-40 degrees - Jesus take the wheel
40-45 degrees - does my insurance cover this?

the Intimidator on flat iron mesa is another that is not all that steep but freaky as hell because you are going around a rock on your driver's side and you have to be careful not to ride up the side of it and on the passenger side you are tipped towards the edge and looking out the pass window all you see is straight down...more a head trip than actually steep.

Lot of factors to consider: is your jeep moving, which way are your wheels turned, how high is your center of gravity, how soft is the ground, air pressure in your tires, sudden braking, weight of your passenger, width of your axles, size of your b@lls, phase of the moon, etc.

biggest factor...for sure...it is amazing if you are on a really steep incline and one of your rear wheels drops in a divot how that makes your balls immediately suck up...

The line I took down Hamburger Hill on Kane Creek Canyon was like this. Its amazing how grippy those rocks are out there. Its like cheating coming from east coast wheeling lol

It's one of those places where my wife couldn't ride along. Hell, she couldn't even watch as I went through it.

I agree: ~35 degrees forward / rear (pitch) isn't that much of a deal. The only time I've ever been really scared in my Jeep was at 34 degrees of roll angle. That was frightening (and really, really stupid that I didn't ask for a spotter).

Every done Mini Moab in your area? It can be as fun as you want to make it.
