Disclaimer: I received these for free on the condition I leave an honest review. So here is my honest review. Also, I borrowed some pics from forum members because I forgot to take some.
First impressions:
Nice quality and workmanship, stainless steel bracket, pin and key ring. The bracket is sturdy and the machining appears to be top notch.
Installation:
Pretty simple and straightforward. You have to drill out the pin with a provided drill bit. Or as one of the forum members suggested Dremel with a cutoff wheel.
First use:
Initially works as advertised, no need for tools and the pin was so easy to remove that I removed the key ring that is included.
The downside:
The first batch did not include the copper bushing. The door made a very loud popping sound when opening and closing. Emailed the manufacturer a video, and a few days later received the bushings that are now included. Installed the copper bushing and the popping noise is gone, but the pin is much harder to install and remove. I am sure if I would have left the ring on I could get the pins out without using pliers. Installing them I have to use a hammer. I have removed and installed about 5 times and each time seems slightly easier, so maybe after enough times it will have self clearanced enough to be a truly tooless experience.
Overall opinion and price:
Priced between $60-100 on eBay seemed high to me at first but then I remembered that it was for 4 of them though I only need 2. The price seems pretty fair for the quality of work and materials. The bracket is pretty thick and I don't see why these won't last the life of the Jeep. While my experience has not been tooless since the addition of the copper bushings I still prefer these brackets over having to remove the bolt and risk cross threading or breaking something.
TLDR:
Good build quality, fairly priced, not perfect, I would buy them if I could get 2 for half the price, needed 4, or had a friend to share.
