Disclaimer: I received these for free on the condition I leave an honest review. So here is my honest review. Also, I borrowed some pics from forum members because I forgot to take some.

First impressions:
Nice quality and workmanship, stainless steel bracket, pin and key ring. The bracket is sturdy and the machining appears to be top notch.

Installation:
Pretty simple and straightforward. You have to drill out the pin with a provided drill bit. Or as one of the forum members suggested Dremel with a cutoff wheel.

First use:
Initially works as advertised, no need for tools and the pin was so easy to remove that I removed the key ring that is included.

The downside:
The first batch did not include the copper bushing. The door made a very loud popping sound when opening and closing. Emailed the manufacturer a video, and a few days later received the bushings that are now included. Installed the copper bushing and the popping noise is gone, but the pin is much harder to install and remove. I am sure if I would have left the ring on I could get the pins out without using pliers. Installing them I have to use a hammer. I have removed and installed about 5 times and each time seems slightly easier, so maybe after enough times it will have self clearanced enough to be a truly tooless experience.

Overall opinion and price:
Priced between $60-100 on eBay seemed high to me at first but then I remembered that it was for 4 of them though I only need 2. The price seems pretty fair for the quality of work and materials. The bracket is pretty thick and I don't see why these won't last the life of the Jeep. While my experience has not been tooless since the addition of the copper bushings I still prefer these brackets over having to remove the bolt and risk cross threading or breaking something.

TLDR:
Good build quality, fairly priced, not perfect, I would buy them if I could get 2 for half the price, needed 4, or had a friend to share.

I’ve been using these on both Jeeps for several months now — very satisfied.

I’ve had them installed on mine for a couple weeks now. I got the bushings and messed up the first one, so my drivers door pops opening and closing, I just haven’t gotten the time to go to Ace to source some more bushings. The other 3 doors are pretty quiet and it works well. The only “issue” I’ve got is I had to run a hone through 2 of the bushings because I couldn’t get the pin through, though that very well could have been installer error and dinged up the bushing. Overall I’m happy with them too. It makes it easier for my wife and kids to get in and out of my jeep since they’re hated not having the detents at all.

In the ad copy, under Installation, we see:
"Designed for DIY installation with no drilling required."

Is drilling required, or not? Just curious.

The current price for a set of four is $69.99.

Yes, some drilling or grinding is required to the detent itself since it is riveted to the bracket that bolts to the body. There is no drilling needed to the jeep itself.

You have to remove the pressed pin assembly at the end of the detent arm. It is a challenge to drill, so I ended up using a Dremel with a cutting disk to cut the pin. There is no going back once you do this unless you replace the factory detent arms.

Understood. That's a material distinction that the seller will probably want to add to the product listing, so that the Wrangler owner can make an informed purchase decision.

Yes, you either have to drill or cut the bracket off the factory detent bracket, it is not meant to be separated from the factory.

As for the price, I have been watching and seen it bounce around a little, and I am not sure how much shipping from eBay is so I rounded up a little.

so, im one of the ones that suggested using the dremel to cut the detent off the end of the door catch. the supplied drill bit isnt worth a bean and is a lot faster to just cut it off. just be careful you dont hit your paint accidentally.....

at first i was not pleased with mine. pins were tough to remove. i put a really thin layer of grease on them. i think they wore in a little bit, and when i got to jeep beach all 4 pins pulled out nice n easy and went back in nice n easy when it was time to go home. so now i like them and am glad i have them. hopefully i will have a can of touch up paint soon and paint them. they come raw.

Now that it is door of season in loving no tools. It's like popping off cj7 doors!
The detent bolt was the most annoying part of pulling doors and I actually broke 2 cheap torque bits putting them back in.

Also, I know I didn't ask but thanks for letting me steal a couple of your pics.

I use an old underpowered Makita impact nut driver, it's my tool of choice when I don't want to strip or break anything and is pretty much only used to take tops and doors off Jeeps at this point. Still broke 2 cheap torques bits. 😆

Taking the bolts off isn't difficult by any means but it is the worst part to me.
