I got a 30% coupon for Goodyear, so I ordered a set of 285/75/17 Duratrac RT's. These are a new updated version of the old Duratracs. Very similar, sidewall tread is new. Only Load Range "E" was available so I ordered the set. I'm really impressed. Jeep feels more stable in turns, less sidewall flex. No louder than stock Bridgestones, ride is just slightly firmer. Started @ 33psi, went to 32psi; they ride very well. Very quiet, no louder than stock tires. I've owned 4WD vehicles since the '70's; these are the quietest mud terrain tires I've ever run. Wet/dry traction is good, they sling mud well. These are awesome. And no, I'm not affiliated with Goodyear in any way.

Good looking tire. I never really liked the original Duratrac sidewall. How is the balance and how much weight per tire did it take?

I always thought the old sidewall looked funky. Balance is good, one tire took about 4" of weight, the others have 1 1/2" - 2".

Best overall tire for Jeeping, trails, light rocks, mud, snow, you name it this tire does it and does it well...Its NOT a HARD CORE BFG KM, but its a great tire for any trail rated up to 5 for sure.

Are the sidewalls stronger than the duratrac or is it the same thing?

Duratracs on my TJ were amazing in the snow.

I loved Duratracs on my WK2 grand cherokee, they are really good on everything from slickrock to ice. Was a little disappointed when I got my JL and learned they don't really make duratracs any bigger than 35".

@Discount Tire do you have any info on the RT's?

I had Dura Tracs on a JKR and they were great. I've been looking for some to replace the factory KO2s on my JLUR. For several weeks Discount Tire has shown the Dura Tracs back ordered. I have been considering the GY Wrangler Ultraterrains but prefer the Dura Trac.

While looking at other stores I came across the Dura Trac RT at Sams Club and Walmart. I think they will meet my needs perfectly.

Anyone else have any experience with the RT?

We need someone to do a comparison test between this and the new KO3.

I hope these sidewalls resist punctures better than the OG Duratracs.

The 285/75R 17's are available for ordering and can be shipped to you or your local Discount Tire location. Other size availabilities are on the horizon. What size are you interested in?

My father has Duratracs on his F-150 and has 75,000 miles on them and there’s still tread left, but finally showing signs of needing replacement. We also have these on a Dually 3500 Chevy at work and we can haul our fiber trailer through a semi wet ditches and through muddy fields with ease. Those have 50k on them now and they still look close to brand new.
