I didn’t even know that’s what I wanted.Ultimately, I wanted to be a jeep bum.
Go do the stuff you have always wanted to do.Well, it’s my time. 47 plus years as a MRO Purchasing Buyer with one of the World’s largest Pet Food Manufacturing Companies.. January 2nd 2026 will be my last day! 47 years was a long ride and walking away is going to be a rough deal but it’s time to move on. Wife was a Nurse, she retired November 1st this year. Now we start new stage of our lives.. I’ll see where this leads!

Copy that. For some people, their occupation defines them. I get it. Many engineers can't quit working and continue working until they can't. I considered it as well. It was an extremely rewarding career that I can recall things in national and international news that I was directly involved in solutions for. Ultimately, I wanted to be a jeep bum.
Glad to be here.
Enjoy, every retirement is well earned.Well, I'm joining all you old retired folks. Next Wed will be my last day. 39 years as a carpenter/Superintendent. No rest for the weary though; moving to Northern Arizona and building a house, with a good sized shop.
You suddenly have slight hearing loss and a back that acts up every once in awhile.Need a little help from all you experienced retired guys. I've been retired for two days now, and my wife thinks I have 30 - 35 hours in each 24 hour day to devote to household chores. I'm not understanding her math. Do I need to go back to work?
