Any of you snowbird retirees know of an off road Jeep trail near SE Phoenix for stock Sahara? Keep in mind my wife complains when I hit the Safeway speed bump too fast. Was looking at Box Canyon near Florence but may need an easier one unless there are parts that are just a dirt road.

Need a little help from all you experienced retired guys. I've been retired for two days now, and my wife thinks I have 30 - 35 hours in each 24 hour day to devote to household chores. I'm not understanding her math. Do I need to go back to work?

Sedona - 110 mi north - Schnebly Hill Road is breathtakingly gorgeous and stupid easy to drive.

It's a GREAT day trip from Phoenix, just highway up to Sedona, bum around, drive the Schnebly and motor back to Phoenix.

Easy peasy (and my wife thought it was a grand adventure.... potholes and speed bumps around here were worse.... just sayin')

You can 100% go down into Box Canyon here, just use some common sense. The water can be deep, so act accordingly.

If you want to run easy trails around the Phoenix area, just buy the subscription to OnX Off Road. There are hundreds and hundreds of trails in the area. I have spent a couple months over the last couple years wheeling that area. There are plenty of trails that are stock friendly. Also plenty of trails that are not stock friendly. OnX will be a great tool for you.

Tell the wife, hey get some comfy shoes on that are hiking orientated, a cup of coffee. Pack cooler with some of her favor dinks and snacks and go see some of the beautiful views.

There is so much beauty in the area that can be easily accessed with a stock Jeep.

We will be back wheeling in the area probably in mid April or early May. If you want to wheel with someone, maybe we will take you wheeling with my wife and I.

Here is a new exercise routine. Leave a rifle next to the sliding glass door, put a target out 200 yards. Walk by said rife, pick it up shoot the target, then walk 200 yards out and 200 yards back so you can check the hit placement. Repeat each time you take a trip to the kitchen for a snack.

2.8% COLA with an increase in the Medicare premium. I netted a $17 monthly bump.

Fortunately I don't rely solely on SS to fund my retirement.

I like Wib’s response! I actually just picked up a new Pistol I ordered last week, plan out taking it for a walk at the Club.. I can tell you it won’t be 200 yards with a HK P30SKS pistol , but at least I got a game plan for after January 2nd. Fishing will be around the corner once I get settled in. Wife is already going a little stir crazy since her depart in November…

I'd be interested in knowing what that long barrel chronographs compared to other pistols and rifles. That would be fun at a "dog town" (prairie dog).

I would tell you, but a friend was using my chronograph years ago and ran a 45 round through it. I just never replaced it. I am able to reliably hit steel with it at 100 yards though. It is a nice shooter that I picked up for $300 just as it is pictured.
