2018 JLUR with 85k miles
3.6 L Automatic Transmission
Just had rotors and brake pads replaced a couple weeks ago and today had to slam on my brakes to avoid rear ending someone who pulled out in front of me. Got home and tried to put it in park and it wouldn’t go past reverse. Eventually after a couple tries it did and since that it has had resistance to go into park. And every time coming out of park it’s much harder to push the button to release into gear. Wouldn’t be a big deal but sometimes it won’t start on the first try because it thinks it’s in reverse. I’ve heard it may be the shift cable linkage but does anybody have any ideas as to what may have caused this or how to fix it and avoid the dealership? Thanks
