Removed factory bumper to fender filler splash guard thingie on front bumper to clear wider offset tires. For those that have done this do you just leave the fog light wiring exposed or did you cut up your filler guard to use as a cover plate? or somthing else i dont know about? New JLU guy any info appreciated thanks!

I cut mine so that it left a cover plate for the fog lights. Others have said it's not a big deal to have those wires exposed, but I wanted to keep them covered.

Same, I trimmed the side and top with a box cutter and put it back on as a cover.

I think I remember reading though that some bumper variations come with the wiring exposed from the factory and everything is waterproof regardless.

I cut mine in place. If you go that route, OP, make sure you use a good box cutter and a new blade. Take your time and follow the contours. It will take a few passes for each side, but it's pretty straight-forward.

I trimmed them on mine and my wife's. I removed the nutserts on my bumper and reinstalled them with pushpins because the screws are waaaaay too long. When I did my wife's, I borrowed my son's 1/4" drive electric Milwaukee ratchet and put it back together with the OEM screws. I gotta buy one for myself for Xmas, it's a great tool.

And @gl420 is correct, the fog light wiring is exposed on the OEM steel bumper.

I left my wiring exposed, but that looks good, you left a smaller profile than others I have seen.

I left mine to cover the wiring. Turned out pretty good, almost forgot I ever had those stupid things :)
