I will check the pins today. I am pretty careful when connecting the harnesses. I Could have easily bent or broken one, would be the first time in 25 years of owning jeeps. I will update the thread when its resolved.

It is under warranty, so a trip to the dealer will happen if I cant figure it out. I am going to pull the door harnesses and check tightness. Its weird that it doesn’t tell me I have a open door any other time. So it must be sensing that a door is “off”. But all the locks and windows work.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem. Remote start has been working fine since last time doors were off (last year). I've checked and rechecked the doors and connections. Not seeing anything out of place or loose.

Taking it into the dealer tomorrow. None of the pins appear to be bent.

2021 JLUR, remote start bot working. Lights flash once and nothing. I do get a message on my dash the says “remote start canceled door open”. I have a full tank of gas, weather is in the 70s, all door have been Opened and slammed shut. I did forget to plug my hardtop harness back in after putting the top on. I figured that was it, I plugged it in, drove the jeep around the parking lot and tried again to remote start: same message. The Jeep does not tell me a door open while driving, alarm arms just fine. Any ideas?
I would check the harnesses where you remove the power doors & windows
It's possible 1 is not plugged in properly?

Does it turn on if you put the key in the ignition? 🤔

Oh, sorry. Thought this was the TJ forum for a second there!

Quick update. I thoroughly went through each door harness and hardtop harness, with no luck. Nothing appears bent, some pins are missing but I dont know which ones come from the factory or not. I will have to take it to the dealer when I have some time off as this is my DD. I will update when I know more!

What happens if you unplug every door? Will it start?

I have not taken it in yet. I can't be without a car while they screw around with it. Someday soon though, as my warranty is about to expire.

Finally dropped it off today. They will let me know next week. Oddly enough, I came down with covid, so I won’t need it for a week. Had my buddy drop it off.

It was a crimped wire in the wiring harness from the door. I could not see it as it has the black sheath over the wires. They replaced the harness and all is good. I have no idea how it got crimped or broken, but I have had the doors on and off alot.

I’m now having the same problem - get the “auto start canceled door open” message. My issue seems different in the sense that my doors have never been removed, and auto start worked just fine until recently. Anyone have any other ideas?
