He as anyone added the Apex steering pump boost kit or a cooler to the system yet? I want to boost my pump, but don’t like Apex’s cooler.

Very helpful! Thank you. My Apex boost kit is on the way. This is the next step for me. Seems straight forward as long as the holes go into the proper cavities.

Look from the bottom to make sure you have clearance

This helps a lot! Thank you. If it’s not too much hassle would you mind snapping a pic of the other fitting?

What size pipe thread to screw into the steering box? I’ve read 1/4” NPT, but 3/8” NPT makes more sense to me.

It’s 1/4 NPT, pipe sizes are strange, it measures around .50” dia.

The fitting that will screw into the female 1/4 NPT will have male -6 JIC on the side the mates with the hose. -6 JIC is used for 3/8” hose. That’s where the sizes are coming from.

My 3.0 intercooler pipe is in the way of the picture . You can tap the top and bottom in two different areas depending upon your clearances

Awesome! Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks for that last pic and the part number. That’s what I’ll use.
I hope to be drilling next weekend!

That number is showing it’s for a 3/8 NPTF x 1/4 JIC at Graingers. Shouldn’t it be
1/4 in x 3/8 in Male x Male NPTF x JIC 7,000 psi Rigid 6W435

For those of you that have done this yourself, do you think the hole for the upper fitting could be drilled onto the side of the steering box instead of the very top? My OEM lines go right over the top of it and there’s not a lot of slack in them. I’d rather not have a rubbing issue if I can avoid it altogether.

You can reposition the hardlines when you loosen the inverted flare nut on the box. The top is the best place to drill from what I’ve seen. You don’t want to mess up the bore where the piston seals at that end.
