I was getting off the highway yesterday afternoon, and when I was about half way down the ramp I got a large red lightning symbol on the dash. It was hard to tell because I was decelerating, but the gas pedal stopped working for a second or two. My first thought was, what to do with a dead car on a highway ramp ! I remember pushing the gas pedal a couple of times with no throttle response at all, then presto….. it all went back to normal, I hope. I did notice that the yellow EES symbol was lit, but my EES has been freaky lately. It was late when I got home so I didn’t diagnose it any further.
It was cold last night, probably 20 +-, and I recall reading that EES has cold issues. I had the aux delete on my todo list, but it’s been too cold to do it.
Is the previous EES issue related to the more recent Red Lightning Bolt ? The EES light may have been on before the Red Lightning Bolt struck.
I did some general Google research on the ETC, but I’m not finding much mention in threads here.
Any ideas ?
