Red Cone then Webster Pass is the "classic" route. Webster Pass takes you back to the starting point of Red Cone and is a "moderate" trail per Trails Offroad so easier than Red Cone. From Red Cone, you enter Webster Pass about halfway through heading south/southeast. Shelf road describes most high trails in Colorado Webster by all accounts is not terrible though I've not done it. We did just have a Jeep roll off the switchbacks of Black Bear Pass but he wasn't hurt. Pay attention. Biggest pucker factor is likely Red Cone itself from all I've read and been told.

Radical Hill and SOB Hill are nearby for a longer, more challenging run. There are bypasses (still hard) for the hardest parts. I'll defer to those who've done them for more details; I've heard a lot about them from friends in my Jeep club, but have not run them myself (yet).

I've run it a few times and can make it on Sunday. I wouldn't mind leading.

@grimmjeeper you are the leader!

Sounds like Cut throat Cafe should be the meeting spot? Any objections?

What time does everyone prefer meeting at the Cafe? I agree the earlier the better, within reason . . .

Is everyone interested in Red Cone pass, then shortest way out, or a full day of trails?

** I drive a 2021 JLUR XR 2.5" lift, 35's, Winch. (need recovery straps and gear, if anyone wants to recommend?)

I can 100% be there Sunday, Aug 17th, if anyone wants to meet that day. I am driving from Minnesota, staying in Keystone (should be there late Saturday)

If not, for those who have done it, if I have done Hell's revenge in Moab, Alpine loop in Lake City Co, Ouray etc already without any trouble ...

How hard would Red Cone be fore me?

I have the Rubicon, so I think i'm good going down the final hill in 4 low, 1st or 2nd gear right?
I did Redcone in an unlifted Willys Sport and went down with 2.72:1 transfer case and 3.45:1 diff gears.....you'll be fine. I just went down in 1st gear 4 lo. (manual)

Theres several types of equipment you can get. And lots of opinions on what to get.

I have a couple of static recovery straps and a kinetic rope. Also a mix of steel shackles and soft shackles.

A basic tool kit can come in handy.

I'm 90% in for that Sunday but just starting a new job and taking that week+ off for the Moab trip in October not trying to rock the boat
Are you going to the October Jeep jamboree in Moab?

I'm in for sure as well. Weather will be fine if we get a morning start - clouds typically roll in after noon and even if we get a T Storm chances are it'll be over in 20 minutes and cut down on all the dust. We won't leave anyone behind. Going back to the trailhead via Webster is easy, there's no real obstacles, just the narrow shelf road for a few hundred yards at the top. Another idea for a return would be to head out towards Montezuma to the north. Sometimes I'll take an easy run up Argentine Pass on my way back to Denver, it's also quite scenic and goes up to the 13K level. The snow drift there was just cleared a week or so ago so it's open now for the duration of the summer.

I've got tons of recovery equipment, straps, etc. If the grimmjeeper wants to lead I'll be happy to take up the tail position. I'm in a 2-Door Rubicon on 35's with an XR lift,. and have done Red Cone and Webster more times than I can count. It'll be a good day!
