BTW my tpms went off at 30 psi.
I changed it to much lower. I dont recall what I set it to, maybe 12 or 15. Probably 15 psi in case wife is driving and a tire gets a leak.
@srt20 - what did you use to go that low? The lowest number I can select in JSCAN is 25# and in the winter it can be problematic (nags) depending on the temperature.

I used JScan. I thought I had it set lower, but maybe I dont. IDK. If the lowest it will go is 25psi then that’s what it set at. But today I had a tire at 25psi, getting cool here, and no tpms alarm.
I’ll have to check what its at…

Here's my process for tire pressure setting:

  1. 1. Fill your tires to the OEM tire Cold PSI recommendation on the inflation plate stuck to the inside of the driver's door.
  2. My OEM tires are 33" diameter BFG KO2s mounted to 7.5" wide wheels. Their recommended cold pressure is 37 PSI.
  3. Grab a piece of chalk or a small strip or sheetrock.
  4. Fill up the tires with air to about 5 PSI over your OEM recommended pressure. You'll be adjusting this later.
  5. Go for a drive to warm up the tires. Drive for about 4 +/- miles. Hard braking and curves will help warming the tires.
  6. Stop the Jeep along side of the road, take your chalk and go out to scribe a chalk line of each road tire (not the spare). You can scribe more than one line, but that'll look a little nerdy.
  7. Get back into the Jeep and drive down the road for maybe 1/4 - 1/2 mile. Pull over to the side of the road (without getting the chalk wet)
  8. Check the chalk lines on all four tires. These observations will become your PSI indicators.
    1. If the chalk is worn off the edges, your tire PSI is too low.
    2. If the chalk is worn off the center, your tire PSI is too high.
  9. Just like The Three Bears, you are looking for just right: even chalk wear all across the tread.
  10. Adjust your PSI by letting a little air out of each tire until each one is 'just right'.
  11. Keep testing until you are satisfied the tires are properly adjusted at each corner. Each tire will likely have a slightly different 'just right' PSI.
  12. Those PSIs should be your new Hot PSI for each tire. It doesn't matter what the cold temperature is as that's not how you drive your Jeep.
  13. If you need a Cold PSI, park your Jeep out of the sun for about an hour or two. Go out and take the PSI at each tire. That will be your new Cold PSI for each tire.

My ‘23 JLURXR came from the factory last week with 45 psi in all the 35s! ?
Same with mine, I just noticed it today after setting up my Jeep pages ?

Funny thing is my sales guy told me it was being "prepped" when I arrived on Saturday to pick it up...apparently checking air pressure is not part of that "prep" process ?

Same here! haha I only noticed because my full tread wasn't hitting the pavement. I'm slowly dropping it down to find the sweetspot between comfort/performance for now.

I started noticing and recalling all of that once I saw the high pressure. The new tire marks weren't worn down at all on the edges of the tread, the way it drove felt like was bouncing around a bit too much compared to one that I'd test driven, etc.

Even the spare was overinflated

I was going to just call it an "XR" thing, glad I saw these types of threads pop up here and there on this site lol

I dropped mine down to 37psi for now until I get a chance to drive it more this week.

I run my 35" K02's load range E at 30psi in the summer and 32psi during the winter.

I need to drop a few more for sure. Happy wheeling!

Ford also knew what they were saying when they recommended 26 psi with Firestone equipped Explorers.

We all know how that turned out.

Do a chalk test and never run above or below the tire manufacturers suggested pressures.
What's the point of doing a chalk test if you're always going to run at the tire manufacturers suggested pressure?

I didn’t say to run the tire manufacturers suggested pressure. I said don’t run above or below the recommended pressures.
As in don’t go above the max recommendation, nor below the minimum recommendation.

Concur with the others. 37 recommended, but I too find 35psi as the best for my 2019 2 dr Rubicon

Tires rotated every 5K - so wear patterns across the tread are closely tracked. 28psi based on even tire gauge depths across the tread at 5 points - outers mids center. OEM KO2s.
