Out of curiosity, has anyone determined what PSI (generally speaking) it takes for full tread contact on 37" K02's?

I have to deflate into the mid-20PSI range for that with LRC 37" K02's on 17x8.5" wheels. Others?

How do you deal with the TPMS? Is there a way to set it below the factory ~28lbs?

The tire industry load charts will tell you the minimum safe pressure for a given weight on the tire. https://www.toyotires.com/media/3729/application_of_load_inflation_tables_20200723.pdf

See page 31. At 25 psi, 37x12.5r17 will safely carry 2,150 pounds per tire.

You can use something like a Tazer JL to program your own custom TPMS limits.

Need to confirm if that is as low as I can go with JSCAN, but 28 sounds right. I do not not run mine that low, I stay with 30PSI and do not have full contact, but am not willing to go lower than that on the highways.

Thanks- according to the manual, it comes on at 28lbs but won’t reset until 35lbs (per memory) Tires ordered, max pressure 35lbs. Will likely run ~30, with the TPMS warning at 28lbs this will quickly become a PITA! I’m hoping someone knows a remedy. Edit- reported 25 lbs is reassuring.

I was thinking that, but wanted to confirm before posting it. I just checked and my BCM/PCM is set to 25. I remember setting it as low as it could go last winter, but could not remember the number.

So 2 years ago I did the famous chalk test with my 33inch falken wildpeak M/T tires. I kept dropping and dropping the pressure until like 28psi to achieve full contact. Obviously I was not gonna run that on a 33inch tall tire, specially since I tow with the Jeep. I spent hours doing this stupid chalk test thing.

So I said fuck it and bump them up the 37psi. The ride was rough so I dropped them to 34. At 34 it felt solid. Below 34 they felt a little too soft and even squirrely at high speed.

After 2 years and 17kmiles on the tires, they're wearing fine. So I'd say just go ahead and fill them to where it feels right anywhere between 32 and 37psi. You can do the chalk test if you want. It didn't work out for me and was just stressful and a waste of time.

I put some KO2's on Willy's wheels on my Sahara. Was wondering if anyone has a pic of the recommended tire pressure from a Rubicon.

The tires are 285/70/17 KO2's. Discount tire filled them to like 48psi, but I think that is way to high - anyone have a pic of the tire badge from a vehicle that has KO2's from the factory?

I checked in the manual and it is not there unless I missed it. Thanks in advance!

37 is what the Rubicon spec is and the factory knows what they’re doing. I run that whenever I’m not aired down. There’s more wear on the edges than the tread center even so, although that’s probably all the twisty CO roads. I corner somewhat quickly.

Ford also knew what they were saying when they recommended 26 psi with Firestone equipped Explorers.


We all know how that turned out.

I have run my 35x12.5x17 KO2 LR E at 27psi cold for last 20k miles. I didnt do chalk test because I dont care about it. Tires are wearing very evenly, but most importantly they ride nicely at that psi.
However I will add this summer we did a 4500 mile trip with a lot of interstate freeway driving at 75-80 mph and I did raise them to 30psi cold with wife and kids in the Jeep. Tire temps never got hot. Probably would have been fine at 27psi.

I ran the OEM 285 KO2 at 30 psi when those were on it.

BTW my tpms went off at 30 psi.
I changed it to much lower. I dont recall what I set it to, maybe 12 or 15. Probably 15 psi in case wife is driving and a tire gets a leak.
