I run 30. Do a chalk testWhat pressure do you run on the road? I've driven my stock 33" KO2s with 33#s cold, up to 40#s cold on the interstate, trying to find some sweet spot. I know the manufacturer recommends 37#s.
I've even had a long time Jeep guy tell me I should be running on almost the high limit of 50#s on the highway. I can't seem to hit the right pressure for my Rubicon 4xe that I feel comfortable boogying at 75-80 mph, and I have other Jeeps fly by me, even with aggressive all-terrain tires.
33 PSI cold. When I was running 37 PSI I could see that the wear was almost always just at the center of the tires. What pressure do you run on the road? Same here. 32 to 33 cold. 315.70.17 KO2.I try to keep my cold pressure at 32-33 so my running temps are around 37. I am on my second set of KO2s and I got 60k out of the first set. Sitting at 105k right now and still have plenty of tread left.
It is almost unbelievable just how much these tires change in tire pressure from cold to hot. Don't fret it too much and enjoy the drive.
I have the KO2 in 255/75/17 on my 2 door, I run 32 psi cold, and they only get to 34 psi hot on the freeway for extended periods. Given that the larger tires require even less pressure, and people are running them at higher psi, interesting that they heat up more. Wouldn't have expected that, unless it's somehow a wide tire thing.Same here. 32 to 33 cold.
This is the first vehicle I've owned that would give you a psi reading. I too am amazed how much these tires change pressure from cold to hot
I have a 2 door but run my KO2s in your same size at 32 psi with excellent results. For a 4 door, I'd go 33. The placard says 37 because LT tires have no official ratings below 35 psi -- they really weren't intended for light Jeeps.I have the OE Firestone Destination M/T 255/75R17. The placard states 37psi cold. And, my center tread is more worn that the outside. Should I drop the PSI to 35 psi?
I live south of you. My tires hit 30 and the lights have been on, telling me to air up to 37 PSI. I finally got around to it today. I'll drive it until the lights go out then air back down to 32.I've made 2 trips from the PNW to Moab, both at end of summer. I set my cold PSI to 33. They warmed up to 37-38 on the road. This was comfortable for me. I wasn't the faster vehicle on the road, but easily kept up with traffic.
Interesting comments about the TPMS lights. With the cold snap a few weeks back 3 tires were at 31 and one was at 30, yet the warning lights never came on, in fact the only time I have ever had em alert is when I air down for trails
