A friend told me that peanut oil is good, but I have not tried it yet...
My co-worker uses Flax oil mixed with something else on his JK and recommends it to me. I don't have the heart to tell him that I definitely won't be going that route because after seeing his, it's not working the way I would want it to haha

Definitely great choice on the contrasting black vs painted.

303 for me. I like to matte look.
On a side note, I wish they could make the black fenders easier to scuff & scratch, oh wait, they got that covered already. ?

303 was my go to for years on my JK. Not greasy. I will admit I did use Back To Back by Mequires in times of weakness when I ran out of 303. One rain shower n it was toast though. Now I have body color flares and a garage. Good times!!!

My cowl still looked very good after like a year with the cerakote wipes.
This is a picture of a spot down deep I didn’t wipe it on, and how faded it would be without it.. after a year.

Four years of sunlight made mine Grey.
I went a bit more permanent with krylon semi flat black.

I like this idea the best. Is the cowl easy to remove?

No. I thought it would be really easy, but there are a bunch of clips and I was afraid of cracking it, so I just taped it off and covered the front of the jeep with plastic. (Picked a day with very little wind and direct sunlight).
Wish I had an easier solution, but the fading was really pissing me off.

It’s not too bad. You get a trim tool, get between the cowl and the Jeep itself, pop all the clips on one side (driver or passenger) up to the midpoint, then do the same on the other side.

The clips can be stubborn the first time, pretty easy after that.
They're the same clips used on the bottom of the grill.
