Picked up some plywood and going to make a little deck in front of the wheel wells and was wondering how yall secured yours. I was hoping for some sort of clamp around the rear seat hoops but running into issues finding the clamp I want. Saw someone use zipties which I guess would work but not sure how tough it would be lol.

Plan is to build a platform off of it at the height of the tub for the pups to ride and drawers under for ease of storage and reaching them just need a way to plant the lower part.

Hi @yokramer :

The fact that you've acquired wood suggests to me you want to go the DIY route on this one.

I admit to not being able to form what I think is a solid mental image of what you envision for yourself but perhaps the following 3 sources can be of use. The first is what some have done who've posted on this forum:

https://tinyurl.com/bdd6296v

The next what some have posted to pinterest:

https://www.pinterest.com/search/pi... cargo storage ideas&eq=jeep cargo&etslf=4601

And the 3rd is my efforts:

My platform, as I hope the selection of pictures I provided show, is supported both by a box like structure from below (whose size you can increase where it interfaces with the floor of the cargo area if you seek to add slide out drawers) and its connection to the cargo tub's lip's hard top secure down points.

Those hinges that connect the wings.....they're connected to the platform not with wood screws but bolts that screw into threaded inserts that make removal of their hinges easy. As you can appreciate, its impossible to install a platform as wide and deep as the tub without the sports bars getting in the way. When the wings that I thought would address this also would not fold down (because of the sports bars again) the easiest solution was to come up with a way to remove the hinges each time I wish to place in or remove the platform without stripping out the wood platform holes which accept the hinges.

The hinged area behind the back seats (not the wings) is designed to fold up with those seats down, to make a platform (which additional construction not shown) in the entire area behind the front seats.

Please add tiedown points on whatever secured platform you devise to harness in your furry friends.

Yea what you did is kinda my plan. Its a 24"x40" piece of plywood we plan to secure behind the front seats and put good tie downs for the pups. We already have harnesses and restraints for them for normal driving.

The problem in the 2 door is I dont see a great way to secure it to the floor thats just where the seat connects and not the whole cargo area.
