I am very happy with the quality of my backup camera. My wife has a 2019 Yukon and the quality is garbage compared to the Jeep 8.4. It’s actually terrible considering the Yukon cost 20k more then the Jeep. It was the first thing she noticed at the dealership when I backed it up and was immediately jealous.

Thank you for that answer. That makes sense. I can see Jeep wanting the trail cam to be the high res camera considering it’s intended use. I can see well enough at night to know if I’m about to hit anything or anyone. Just wanted to be sure I didn’t have a camera issue I needed the dealer to look at. Seems I don’t. I’m fine with that.

I guess thepeople getting the U5 setup will be happier with the clear reverse camera. Lol. I’ll be fine with my grainy one since it’s intended.
I just got my 2022 Sahara with 8.4 Uconnect AND front trail cam...same exact issue. Poor night resolution with back up camera. I'm going to try and add some light back there as Yogi mentioned...

I installed Oracle’s flush mount tail lights and their reverse lights are incredible brighter than stock. The rear cam image is still grainy at night but not near as bad. Made a huge difference

I'm not quite up for those flush mount tail lights at this point, but I do see that oracle makes a flush led light see that fits into the rear bumper reflector slots and you then tie into the backup lights to activate them. Supposedly they add a lot of light and really improve the rear camera image quality. They are like $109

If you have the stock rear bumper then that’s the way to go. If they are remotely as bright as the taillights then they will make an improvement
