So I rotated my 5th wheel last weekend and somehow someway scratched the lens of the rear view camera.

Has anyone replaced the camera? Is this a known issue from bumping the camera when lifting the spare wheel back onto the carrier? I feel like an idiot and have to look at my mistake every time I backup now.

It’s not pretty. Hardest part is finding the camera with the correct connector.

It's a lot cheaper to just remove your tailgate, and in my honest opinion, you get a lot better visibility without it. Way better visibility than I ever did with the camera!

You might want to look into grinding the lens down with some sandpaper same as you do when you de-yellowing your headlights. Worst case scenario you got to replace it anyways. But if it works you just save yourself like probably close to 800 bucks. I can't imagine those cameras are cheap!

The lens should be pretty thick, you could probably take it down a good amount with some 300 grit, then some 600, and finally clean it up with a 2000 grit.

Love to hear the outcome, keep us posted!!?
