New to RCVs questions: Does the grease come out of the boot and then get slung all over the surrounding area? What does the grease typically sling onto exactly? Are there any critical areas or parts that should be cleaned up? Can someone post some photos? I'm typing up a maintenance schedule/plan and want to add in the areas to clean up and keep an eye on. Thank you for the advice/insight.
Typically if they are greased, as instructed by RCV, you won’t have grease flinging all over the place.

I thought about the RCVs and they do look cool. I also thought about going to 37s and 4.88 gears along with the RCVs for my 23 Wrangler Rubi 2 Dr. I did go with the Tom Woods 1350 drive shafts.

After given the RCVs some serious thought after reading about the rebuilds, constant greasing and cleaning up the grease slinging, and the fact that my Dana 44 axles are durable, I elected to forego the RCVs and more than likely I will not be going from 35s to 37s and from the 4.10s.

My existing build is doing just fine on the trail. If they bind then I will deal with it and adjust accordingly.

I ran RCVs for 150,000klm without rebuild. I had no grease flinging issues and the simple maintenance of a pump of grease every once in awhile is nothing compared to the maintenance you will have with that. Woods double cardan driveshaft. There is night and day difference between running RCVs and traditional U Joint axles.
However, if you are staying with 35” tires they would be overkill.

They do sling grease because they are not fully sealed.

I get grease mostly inside the wheel.

i don't know about on the Toyota you have listed in your Tagline, but on my JL(U) there's a small bit of grease that appears on the inside of the wheels.
RCV told me they only want a few pumps on the grease gun every once-in-a-while, so i ht them when i do tire rotations (every 5K miles).
wipe down wherever you see grease when you have the wheels off to rotations if you care about such things.
